Dr. Jan Chenette Bax, MD

I pray to God that nobody gets this doctor for an IME. I am a 48-year-old male, non-smoker, consider myself semi fit and I’ve worked for the same employer in a factory for 30 years. I have probably missed a total of five days in those 30 years of work and I’ve always worked overtime when available. This doctor, not even knowing me or what I do denied my Workmen’s Comp. saying that there was no repetitive motion and no sign that carpal tunnel syndrome was present. His facts are all biased and based on old books and facts. Half the time he even trips over his own words stating it’s not considered repetitive and then on the next phrase considers it possibly highly repetitive depending on certain situations above and beyond work, age, gender, BMI etc. this doctor Is only in favor of the Workmen’s Comp. insurance is and their companies, he is not in favor of the patients, you know human beings that actually work for a living!

Lies about every examination . I had 4 already. Took 10 months to get surgery on my hand before he okayed it. 100% for Workmans Comp !! He can barely walk , talk, and can barely hear and has to look into a book for answers. He reports the opposite of the exam from what the Truth really was. Terrible Doctor...

Dr Bax is totally for the workman’s comp not for the patients health or continued care. He denied my claim not once but twice stating my injuries are not work related that it’s due to age, genetics and gender. Really?? 21 years as a nail technician but nail technicians don’t get carpal tunnel or perform repetitive motions according to Dr Bax. His report has lots of errors in it stating that I was unsure if the right hand would be operated on , umm that’s the hand that was operated on duh! In prior report said it was unnecessary for surgery now says it needs to be operated on. After initial the claim and medical bills were denied by workman’s comp due to his previous report. If you must have an IME request a different doctor. Literally was in and out in 10 minutes. He also asked me to take my shirt off not once but twice and I said my shirt for a hand exam?? He said oh did I say shirt I didn’t mean to say that! He makes you feel uncomfortable!!! I took my husband to the first… appointment and my father to the second one. The second appointment he told me I could take my bodyguard with me. Mind you my father is 71 years old and walks with a cane, he also asked my father if he was packing heat in his cane. Needless to say don’t go to him he’s a waste of time and gets paid off by the insurance companies to say you are fine it’s not work related.

If you file a workman's comp claim and this guy gets your case, you have no chance. He'll tell you you're old and fat.

If you are scheduled with this MD for a work comp case, IMMEDIATELY request a new MD if you want a fair assessment!!! I am a healthcare professional, and this man is a joke. He just got paid $2000 for 15 minutes of nothing....no exam, nothing! Just a denial for work comp that I have to fight now.

Probably the worst experience ever by a professional. Very biased. Unprofessional. No empathy or concern. His experience not up to date. Not all cases are text book. He uses that judgement. Not treat the patient. Would never recommend him ever!

He did a IME(independant Medical Exam) based only by therapy/exam records that the WC carrier asked me to do. He NEVER SAW ME. He stated my claim wasn't work related because of my age(41), Gender(female) and that I'm obese. I've worked in a office for 15 years ON A COMPUTER. He is paid by the WC carries to write junk up in their favor.

This Doctor took both sides of a workers comp case, mine, and then my employers. He made out 2 opinions opposite in one workers comp case. Not recommended!

Dr. Bax saved my son's arm. He was always there when we needed him. God Bless Him
