Dr. John Lumir Bender, MD

This man is a scam artist. Dr. Bender will prescribe you medication you don’t need just so you have to fill the prescriptions at his pharmacy for cash. Run away!

I don't know if I would have survived cancer had it not been for Dr. Bender advocating on my behalf. When the in house hospital doctor had written orders for me to be discharged from the emergency room, and did not plan to admit me to the hospital, Dr. Bender called and spoke to him and advocated for me to be admitted and treated with IV antibiotics for the pneumonia that was secondary to the not yet diagnosed cancer that I had. Then when the lab that my biopsies were sent to was not certain of the specific type of Lymphoma/Cancer that I had , Dr. Bender arranged for my biopsy slides to be sent to the NIH (National Institute of Health) for a second opinion. The doctor from the NIH identified it as a different type of Lymphoma/Cancer than the first lab had identified it as,which then changed the type of chemotherapy that I received. Now my last PET scan showed no more masses in my chest when previously I had had 3 masses! No more Cancer! I've been a nurse for over 25 years, so I know… how much it meant to have such a good, knowledgeable, thorough, caring doctor, with high standards to advocate for me! Thank you Dr. Bender!

I have been a patient of Dr. Benders for about 20 years. His practice has drastically evolved over the years, but he is still the same great doctor he has always been. His MVP direct is a hit, our family loves it.

I wish I could leave a -10 rating They screw you over for everything you can never get a copy of your bill. Never He is so arrogant and has a glaring lack of social skills. Treats his staff like he’s a slave driver and surrounds himself with only females he talks down to you like you’re an idiot. Forgets what he’s talking about and doesn’t pay attention to what you say I would not let him treat my cat. So much loud drama going on Staff have mentioned to “ be warned he’s in a bad mood today “ when you check in. Staff is warning you he’s in a bad mood so watch out. Seriously?? He has either high functioning autism or is mentally unstable. Never have I heard a doctors staff warn me that the doctor was in a bad mood. He needs to retire !!! I feel so sorry for those girls who work for him And he will not stay on topic long enough to finish the main reason you’re being seen. More of a salesman than a provider Always pushing something to make a buck. Feels like he only cares… about cleaning out your bank account than resolving your problem

I have being a patient of Dr. Benders for several years. During that time he had provided me with fairly good medical advice. However, it seems recently that Dr. Bender is more concerned with charging extra money for his care than other physicians. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this doctor to anyone that wants to receive honest medical care and this doctor needs to be a bit less concerned about his own ego than the patients care.which-is a common refrain for doctors.

Dr john is awesome he cares and tells you how it is and everyone on his staff is great to. He definitely knows what he is doing i would refer him any time

Dr. Bender has been our family physician for many years, and consistently gives the right diagnosis and treatment. His office staff are always very kind and helpful. He has helped mentor students in medical fields and has some very good newspaper and magazine articles about his practice. He was a flight surgeon in the Navy, and ran a field hospital in Kosevo years ago. We are very happy that he is our family doctor.

Dr. Bender is amazing, hes very smart and capable and caring. He runs a great practice. I would strongly recommend Miramount, and for those uninsured or high deductible, they offer a greatly discounted rate.

My wifewas refused by Dr. John L Benders Snow Mesa staff ,after spending the night at McKee medical center for a possible heart attack. All due to medical benefits and not being able to pay upfront to see Dr. Bender for a follow up visit. My wife was devistated . This is not good to cause a patient stress after a possible headheart attack.!!!!!!!

I have worked in healthcare since HS, and I can honestly say Dr. Bender is the most pompous and self absorbed man I have ever met , or rather making the mistake of using him as my PCP. My advice is to literally RUN, don't walk away from this man. I had to "jump through hoops" to get my medication refills! And that is the honest to God truth. I am NOT being overly harsh, I have written down and dated every ignorant and abusive thing this man has felt he has had the right to say to me. But I am guessing he hasn't read the "Patient Bill of Rights" lately or at all? I was NEVER given one when I went there, and a lot of patients don't know they exist, but please know they do. His staff are a wealth of information, without even asking, very disgruntled acting people. I AM a good listener, and am happy to know if what I suspect on other levels is true. Life is short, stay away from this negative "money making machine"! I am a survivor on many levels, and when this Dr. thought that was… "humorous" I was pretty livid, but chalked it up to no empathy on the part of some Health Care Professionals. It's sad but I have to move on. Please do the same past this Dr. There are other Drs. that, in my opinion, are very good, in his practices. Thank you.
