Dr. John Andrew Berger, MD

Excellent doc who combines old time common sense with recommendations for high tech tests. He is appropriately funny, and very clear about serious issues. He is personable and thorough. I highly recommend him for accurate diagnosis of difficult problems.

Rushes patients, gives wrong diagnosis and will not answer your questions! Don't challenge this one!

Dr. Berger has been my primary doctor for over 20 years. He takes time and really listens to me! He engages in conversation other than my chief complaint at the time. He has always been accessible to me and has never made me feel like I was wasting his time no matter what I was talking about. He is wonderful. I love him!

Some doctors, even as they get older, are plesant and accommodating. Dr. Berger is not one of them. He wants to quickly assess you and does not want to communicate with you like a doctor should. I really feel he does not want to be thorough and just wants "easy" patients. After my lab work is done and I know the results, I am changing doctors.

Dr. Berger had been great for me since I've been seeing him for about 10 years now. I have decided to stop seeing him when he gave me the wrong dosage for my thyroid. He was giving me more dosage instead of less. I decided to pay extra and go directly with the specialist. The specialist told me he was giving me the wrong dosage of medication. So now I've decided to go see the specialist. I was disappointed because I wasn't feeling good and I trusted that he was giving me good care. I'm glad I went to see the specialist!

MY HUSBAND WAITED ALMOST A MONTH TO SEE THIS "DR". THE NURSES LAUGHED AT MY HUSBANDS CONDITION, AND SAID HE WAS A "MESS"! WHEN THE "DR" FINALLY SAW MY HUSBAND HE SAID " I DON'T WANT YOU AS A NEW PATIENT, YOUR SITUATION IS TO COMPLICATED"... " I WILL NOT HELP YOU" ... "I WILL NOT ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS" WHILE GLARING AT HIM THE WHOLE TIME. AVOID THIS "DR" LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I am under 30, but have been to plenty of doctors over the years. Dr. Berger is by far the worst doctor I have ever had. 7 times out of 10 he is grumpy and has an attitude, doesn't seem to care at all about me as a patient, and does not want to put in any effort at all to help me. His knowledge is fine but he could not be more difficult to reach for a question or a prescription, and can't be bothered to fax over any forms or fit me in for an appointment. The last 3 times I have attempted to make an appointment for something urgent, he has been on long vacations and is not available. When I have attempted to go to urgent care nearby because he is "too busy" he has denied my claim to go to a secondary source and afterwards "made time" to fit me in. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone under any circumstances. I could go on and on how dissatisfied I am.

I've been coming here for a few years now and I've only been here for physicals really. It's pretty easy to schedule time to see him and he seems to see a lot of older patients. The office is pretty dated as are the reading materials. He's a grizzled veteran and probably has seen most of the human body's problems over his long career. I figure that it's good to have an experienced doctor as a primary care doc and I'll go see the fancy doctors for specialists when I need them.

So I went to this old school doctor for my daughter who was one yr. She wasnt eating much and she wasn't gaining wait. I went twice in 2 months and he said she was fine, that it happends. He also said she might not be having a good eating experience. After my last visit with him, I went to anoter doctor who took one look at her and said that she weighs what a 6mo. old should way and she was not healthy. She had a stomach virus that she had for months! I could not believe that Dr. John burger could not see the weight difference and by looking at her bones through her skin couldnt tell that something was wrong. I will NEVER go back to this doctor. He does not know what he is doing.

He was so rude to me and I feel like he's very out of touch with patients. He's fine for older people, but anyone under 50 should find a younger doctor. He didn't even get my full lab work done right. His staff are all friendly though.
