Dr. John Theodore Bjork, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Bjork for several years, he managed my UC. I no longer live in Wisconsin, so have been forced to find another provider. None have managed my symptoms as well as Dr. Bjork. Sure his bedside manner leaves a bit to be desired. But I would prefer competent medical care over warm and fuzzy.

I saw Dr. â??Bâ?? in 2010 when I was suffering from really bad stomach problems, high cloistral and liver problems due to medications from a TBI (Traumatic Brian Injury). I am more of the holistic type person and he was very respectful of my feelings and worked with me. Showed me on the chart what was going on and gave me printed out information to read further. He gave me several test and medications. He was so kind and called me with follow up test results at 8:00pm at night on the night before a holiday!!! He told me what I needed to do and set up all the forward appointments for me. He then retired and 5 years went by and then my friend had to have a procedure done and I went with her and there he was!! I was so happy and I hope my insurance will cover him as its time for a follow up. As for time spent, I do not know now with new health mandates what is allowed per person. Sad that Docs time is controled by so many rules now days. At the new place he is very much in demand so it… is hard to get an appointment as he is part time now. For this guy I will WAIT!!!

My sister had a badly infected gallbladder. Dr. Bjork quickly diagnosed the problem, got us an ultrasound the very next day, and then got us to a surgeon who could perform the operation a few days later. When she had some painful GI complications and the surgeon could not help, we put in a phone call to Dr. Bjork's office. His scheduler told us she wouldn't be able to see him for weeks. Dr. Bjork called my sister personally to find out what her severe symptoms were. He saw us the very next day. There are very few doctors like Dr. Bjork these days. He truly cares about his patients, and calls them personally to get answers. He is knowledgeable, professional, and kind. He listens to every question and answers it. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Bjork to any of my family or friends.

I had a bad experince with this doctor. I have had a lot of stomach problems, I was throwinfg up multiple times. I needed an EGD done. He gave gave me little to no info about what was found, he gave me the info as I woke up from the general anesthesia . He told me a had a hiatal hernia but didn't explain what it was, but told me there was no reasons for my symtoms to continue while I was taking a proton pump inhibitor. He then told me to have another EGD in 3 years, end of conersation. I tried to follow up the next few days to let them know my symtoms weren't better. I took me a week to get a hold of anyone. I talked to the doctor his blew off my complaints acting as if it was in my mind. This really upset me. I call again and the office staff scheduled an appointment per my request. I am 23 years old but I brought my mother, mostly as a witness to my symptoms. The doctor ignored me and talk only to my mother. This reminded me of doctor's appointments I went to as a child. He did not… treat me like an adult patient. I feel this doctor ignored and minimized my complaints because of my age, like he was listening to a child tell a story. If I could give hime negative stars for bedside manner I would. I would not recommend this physician to anyone.
