Dr. John Robert Bjorklund, MD

I was a patient for 10 years. During that time Dr. Bjorklund gave no response when I mentioned a lump in my breast (which turned out to be malignant). On another occasion, when I expressed concern about swollen legs and ankles, he told me to "relax"; the following year he gave me an exercise to do; the year after that he changed my blood pressure medication ... the swelling disappeared (A year before first mentioned the swelling, Dr. Bjorklund had doubled the strength of my blood pressure medicine.) On another occasion, when I was having severe back pain and difficulty walking, he prescribed X-rays and steroids - 4 weeks later, an MRI was ordered - it showed a herniated disc and he prescribed 16 weeks of physical therapy. (I have since found out that the MRI also showed degenerative disc disease which Dr. Bjorklund never mentioned.) It is sad to have someone practicing medicine who is so lacking in knowledge and "bedside manner".

Missed diagnosis for cancer on a 24yr old. A simple untrasound would have confirmed. Patient said there was a lump and. Patient had other signs as well that were dismissed. Told patient to ignore pressure and tenderness. Cancer would not feel that way. Wrong! Finding out that time may have avoided months of chemotherapy and a very intrusive surgery when finally diagnosed 7 mo later by a different dr. Bjorklund never did a personal follow up after finding out the diagnosis. This was a patient he had delivered and had been his primary dr for 24 years. Dissappointed, angry, and frustrated by his lack of compassion and attention to detail.
