Dr. John Douglas Bonema, MD

I told Bonema I would like to be assessed for a chronic medical condition. He didn't even know what it was, but I had documented why I thought I had the disease. A simple assessment that I had brought with me would have allowed him to verify whether I was right or wrong. By the time the appointment was over, he had attempted to gaslight me into believing that I was incorrect and that it was something else. I didn't let it go, and he gave me the name of a specialist who confirmed that I was right. I have since gone to a vascular specialist because Bonema confirmed in a different appointment that I had two bleeds on my lower leg after I told him what I thought they were. He did not recommend that I do anything about it. Taking the initiative, I made an appointment because the chronic medical condition and poor veins are linked. I will be having eight procedures at one of the vein centers in the metro area to begin to deal with the health concerns he ignored.

For nearly 30 years, He has been my primary doctor. Compassion, fantastic bedside manor, willing to listen. He is your partner in healthcare. Highly recommend.

Dr. Bonema was my doctor for over at least 10 years. Great doctor with that bedside manner that you rarely find anymore. Then we had to move out of state, and boy do I miss him till this day, and it's been 10 years now!!

Everything at Troy Internal Medicine is excellent except telephone service which I wait over 10/ minutes every time to speak with someone.
