Dr. John Boyd, MD

Dr. Boyd cared for my mom back in 2003. She had a tumor in her liver and bile was backing up and she was jaundice. Dr. Boyd tried his best to insert a tube to drain the bile, but was not able to. After the procedure, He came to where I was in the waiting room and took me out into the hallway and we walked toward the treatment room. He told me that the procedure didn't work and that the cancer would shortly end her life. He had his arm around me as we walked and I cried. Dr. B. is one of the most compationate and caring Dr.'s I've ever met. Years later, I was admitted for a few stomach tests and refused to see anyone but Dr. B. Again, he was thorough and kind. I'm so blessed to have such an awesome human being, as my doctor!

I know people go online to give bad reviews and honestly there is a reason behind it. I have been to his office several times regarding my acid reflux issue and he finally one day he decided to do an endoscopy on me, after which I was told everything was fine and anxiety was the issue for my reflux. So then I was prescribed for a lifetime with omeprazole. The medication was working good but then My symptoms started getting worse. After visiting his office again regarding this problem he told me that there was no help and I needed to see a psychiatrist and he told his stuff to not accept me for appointments anymore. Now, I am on a good diet and eat healthy, don't eat, junk food, don't smoke, don't drink, and didn't even know what anxiety was. So I started to learn about it and finally thinking about it, started getting panic attacks, its horrible dr Boyd. Now I am writing this so other people who go sees him and if he is not able to give you a good reason, remember there are other… doctors who will help. Do not take medications for life. To finish my review, I happened to go visit India for some family arrangements and since its cheap to see doctors there I gave it chance to see one. I was diagnosed with a simple problem H Pylori which was fixed in 10 days. 2 things can cause reflux, hetial hernia or h.pylory that causes ulcer. A GI doctor in India also told me that I should stop taking meds because it ruins your body, esp your liver. I didn't have any symptoms anymore nor I'm taking medications. Please take care of yourselves. Find a different doctor to help you with your symptoms if you think his method isn't working. He gets mad if you tell him that his method is not working. Selfish.

Dr. Boyd has an impeccable bedside manner. He is very kind and compassionate. He is also extremely knowledgeable and he takes him time to listen to any concerns you have. I went to him years ago and I will continue to see him in the future. My family member just had a procedure done by him today and he did an excellent job. He made us feel welcome and his sense of humor is a pure delight!!! A few of my friends have also gone to him and they each say the same thing. This Dr. definitely has our vote!

I have been a long time patient of Dr John Boyd. Dr Boyd has provided exceptional care to me and has a wonderful bedside manner! I feel that without my treatment from him I would not be where I am today. Dr Boyd always takes the time to listen and address any concerns I have had since being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. He truly cares about his patients and I feel Blessed to have him as my doctor. I would highly recommend Dr Boyd to anyone looking for a gastroenterologist.

I've had gastrointestinal problems for years. I've tried to explain my symptoms - I'm told it's just IBS. Okay, it's been years and years of diet changes, meds that do nothing and I'm not sure where to go or who to see next. I need a doctor that will work with me to resolve the problems I have.

Really took time with me, to explain procedure, answer any of my questions and his bedside manner was outstanding. Very kind and compassionate, doctor. Very easy to get my refills, for my medicine. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs to see someone in his field of medicine.

I've been going to Riverside Gastroenterology for 5 years now (my condition has me visiting quite often) and am always greeted and helped by a great staff every time I go. I first met Dr. Boyd 5 years ago when I was lying in a hospital bed trying to figure out what was wrong me. He was the doctor on call (not my doctor at the time) and re-assured me that he was going to help me get better. He came to visit me in my room everyday to check on me, get to know me, and work on getting me better. After my doctor retired I requested to be under his care. For the last three years Dr. Boyd has given me every resource I need to make well informed decisions about my care and condition. He works with me as a partner in my care and doesn't hesitate to call me directly when I have questions or trouble. When I have a visit he makes sure that I have all the time I need to communicate my condition, I have all the information I need, and makes sure we are both on the same page with my care. In… this day and age of healthcare you don't find a doctor who exhibits the amount of professionalism and personal care that Dr. Boyd provides.

He saved my life and remains my partner in medicine for the rest of it.
