Dr. John J. Braswell, MD

Dr. Braswell is a wonderful doctor that is very attentive to his patients needs. He listens to your problems and doesn’t rush visits. He takes great interests in his patients. Great personality!

I have been seen by many many doctors in the past 17 years with my back problems and Dr. Bradswell is the best Dr. I ever had. He listens to you and helps. If you looking for a real Dr. Who cares, go see him.

Dr. Braswell, as a Doctor is good at what he does, but was not thorough in my case (along with my first spine specialist/surgeon as well). Dr. Braswell has "almost" zero empathy with his patients. He has very little regard towards his patients and their feelings and told me how I should feel vs. what I was telling him. It's his way, or the highway. Plus he listened to my spine specialist as well. Bad move! Having lived with 'back pain" and issues for 25 years plus, well, he needs to listen to the patients a little closer. Thank "???" I "LISTENED" to my gut instincts and changed surgeons and pain management Doctors. I physically couldn't stand the pain anymore. It was getting worse by the year for almost 15 years. Both of these doctors did NOT listen to my comments. I was in very harsh pain consistently, and so bad some nights I went to the Hospital. Sometimes the pain was so bad, I felt like I was going to "black out"! On my first visit to my "new" spine… specialist/surgeon, he listened to everything I said. I had actually wrote it all down. He scheduled my MRI a few days later. The MRI didn't show a problem, nowhere! He listened to me again during my 2nd visit, and immediately ordered more X-Rays during my 2nd visit. He instantly found the problem with the new X-Rays. I learned I was probably 6 months away from being permanently paralyzed from the waste down. The Sciatica Nerve around L4 & L5 was causing the pain! One Hospital, One Doctor from another facility, and Dr. Braswell "FAILED" to find the "ROOT" cause. It still puzzles me how my 2nd Doctor found it right away, within 3 weeks! I had begged the other doctors for more than 3 years to find what was going on with my back, and why was I in such pain, sometimes lasting 3 days. FWIW, my new Doctor looked at my MRI (taken while laying down), and immediately order new X-Rays with me standing up (2nd visit). Standing up showed the problem instantly! Just one little simple difference saved me from being paralyzed for life! NOTE: My first Doctors "all" decided I was there for "Medicine" only! I told them many times I was there for them to find the problem. Something was wrong, plus I was losing control of my left leg, and it would go partially numb sometimes. I permanently have lost 20% motor movement in my left leg. And thank "???" again that's all I lost! I thank the first three MD's for this! Sad story, and Braswell was the worst out of all of them! He would not listen, NO Empathy! In his mind, he was right, and I was "??????"! I will never forget my experience!

Severe pain; This Doctor is great but the steps to see him are horrible; You have to go thru his nurse and she will not return calls. I called for several days straight but no returned calls.

I liked and respect Dr Braswell a fine Dr you can trust

he is a wonderful doctor, but his nurse is appalling. She refused to help me, which is her job, and I think that she fired me as a patient. went to see HIM for an appointment later and HE was nice... too bad I have to go thru HER to get to him.

Office employees need a lesson in how to be honest. To treat patients the way they would want to be treated. Without patients they would not have a job.

After an absolutely horrific experience with another pain management doctor in Baton Rouge, Dr. Braswell was a welcomed change. He is very kind, understanding, and most of all his diagnosis was accurate when the other doctor completely missed something. His staff is prompt to return calls and they are kind as well. When you are in terrible pain, they make things so much better.

I trust him & he was always good to me, the whole staff. I dont see him anymore, I got very ill on a non related issue, so I missed a appointment. When I was able I tried calling them & no one would talk to me. But Im living with the daily Chronic pain. No one else is sticking my back, I hope to see Dr Braswell again.
