Dr. John Michael Brennan, MD

Terrible doctor. He treated my wife for several months, prescribing her massive doses of Xanax, which her new doctor has had to spend months helping her titrate off of. She also reported that he was condescending and dismissive about her concerns over her treatment. Also, he missed an appointment with her, leaving her in a virtual waiting room for three hours; no explanation or apology. My wife felt like he didn’t care about her or her well-being. Avoid at all costs.

Anybody disagreeing in Dr. Brennan practice is fooling themselves. I was once the "person" who claimed poor pitiful me. Reality is Dr. Brennan takes all serious due to his experience. By him being "arrogant" or "to the point" is in my eyes his style. I once tried to get buy in on my "own diagnosis" and "elaborate sob stories" fact is if you are ready for change you are ready. Don't go blaming the doctor that you excepted an appointment with and then prolong your issue or issues. Sounds like another excuse to buy yourselves time till you are ready to get "honest" with yourself. Only you can fix you....

Dr Brennan has been my doctor for 15 years +. I feel he has been a great doctor. He has diagnosed my illness spot on. When I needed to get more in depth care he admitted me to a psych hospital. I like and trust Dr Brennan.

Wasn't interested in anything I had to say, assumed I was HIV positive despite telling him earlier in the session that I wasn't, and took the opportunity to preach about how I don't actually have depression and am "only" suffering grief from the sudden death of my partner. Apparently grief isn't co-morbid with depression his eyes. Wasted a ton of time with a checklist of pointless questions, refused to read some info about myself I'd brought to the session, and big shock, we ran out of time before anything of import could be discussed. I'll be reaching out to the clinic that referred me to Dr. Brennan and asking them to remove him from their list of referrals.

Dr. Brennan has a lot of patients, and he always remembers me, genuinely cares. He gave a spot on diagnosis my first visit and offered a comprehensive treatment plan that has worked for me. Dr. Brennan's assistant, Liz, always returns my phone calls the same date and does what is possible to accommodate me. My interactions and experience with Dr. Brennan and the staff there has been great. Chris (I think that's her name!) the receptionist is also awesome. I highly recommend Dr.Brennan.

Dr. Brennan is an extremely attentive and caring physician. Liz Potter has always been great as well. I've been a patient since 1999.

Dr. Brennan is one of the most attentive and active listening physicians I have ever known. He is the only Psychiatrist that has ever had sustained positive results for my husband and I. Thanks to him, we continue to live as we always wanted, without the nuances of our diagnosis' disrupting our lives.

Dr. Brennan listened to me, was very perceptive and discerning, showing keen insight. He helped me understand what my “issues” are and what needs to be done to get past them. He was friendly and attentive. Very professional, intelligent and a very good doctor. If he were a bad doctor or a pill pusher, he would have kept me coming back for more appointments with him and would have prescribed meds. Instead, he listened, discussed and advised. He gave me a diagnosis and advised me to see a good counselor & gave recommendations. I was very impressed with Dr. Brennan.

Arrogant, rude, does not listen, intimidating, insulting, makes you feel worse than you did before seeing him. Believe the reviews. They are spot on.

I cannot emphasize enough how accurate the bad reviews of Dr Brennan are. That so many patients find him not only rude and insensitive but often hostile to his patients tells you all that you need to know. A patient in his waiting room one day when I was there became despondent at the thought of having to talk to him again. I know exactly how he feels. He seems to regard your mental health issues as a character defect that is entirely your fault and makes little effort to hide it. Another reviewer correctly stated "He does not care about you." Nothing could be more true.
