Dr. John Selby Brokloff, MD

This oral surgeon is awful and inconsiderate. My appointment was scheduled at 1:30pm and I didn’t call back till 3:00pm. I had two molars removed. As he removed one of them, I had a reflex and my arm went up and he said I grabbed him aggressively and banned me from coming back. He screamed at me four times that I wasn’t allowed to come back. He treated me very poorly. Save your money and your time. Find another oral surgeon to go to for your dental needs.

I have had two separate appointments for extractions in the last two weeks. My experience both times was wonderful. Questions were answered, procedures explained, I did not feel as if I was rushed, but was in and out so quickly. The front office staff, assistants and the surgeon were all very caring and kind. After the procedure I had minimal to no pain. I would recommend this surgeon to anyone that needed oral surgery.

He was extremely rude and acted as if he didn't care when I mentioned that sensation has yet to come back. He had me sign a form as I was sitting in the chair waiting for surgery versus in the waiting room. He also called my mother an ignorant fool because she was concerned for her child's health. Please don't come to this human he is horrible.

My daughter lives in Ketchikan, AK on a remote island. There are no oral surgeons on the island with the closest in Seattle, WA or Anchorage, AK. That wouldn't work because she can't be released to a hotel & stay alone. They said that she needs to be with someone when released. I asked if I could make an app't w/in a 2 week window for him to examine her prior and then schedule her for wisdom teeth extraction. An app't was made for 12-18-18 but the employee told me that she would check with the doctor just to be sure. I was told that she would call me back to confirm. I received no return call for 2 business days & a weekend. I called & the person answering indicated that her co-worker left a message. I DID NOT RECEIVE a message. She said that maybe she didn't call then. She then went on to inform me that that Dr. Brokloff likes to take off frequently & didn't feel "comfortable" taking her appointment. I asked if he frequently re-schedules app'ts for patients & I was told… that he DOES frequently cancel app'ts. He may want to go on vacation or want the day off and it would be too much for him to have to adhere to an app't. Originally, we were hoping for Christmas so that she could fly home but when I was told he might want to take off I mentioned I could bring her home another 2 week span and they said that he was not comfortable with that. I asked them what kind of doctor is he that refuses to adhere to a schedule and not care about his patients enough to treat them. She then said, maybe the hospital would schedule something for him causing him to reschedule? I found that strange & very unlikely for an oral surgeon, but perhaps possible. However, we were still willing on having a 2 week window whenever they could put her in. This young woman needs care and was willing to fit into his schedule. She again said, he is not comfortable scheduling her. Needless to say, I recommend not putting any loved one under the care of this man. HORRIBLE!

I was raised that if you were not speaking truth then say nothing at all.No lies were ever tolerated in our home. I don't sugar coat anything and have never been a butt kisser, I either like you or I don't , no grey area with me. I was referred to Dr Brokloff and was apprehensive to go because the Dr that referred me was awful. I went anyhow figuring if he was the same than id get up tell him my thoughts and leave. He was incredible and had a personality odd combo for a Dr.He listened to me and I can talk , I had many questions and he addressed them all. He wasn't demeaning , God complex or disrespectful. He made me very at ease and did an incredible job. I couldn't be happier. I was raised by parents of great financial means and grew up and created my own wealth. When you are wealthy you wonder who treats you well because they like you and who does so because you are wealthy. Well when my husband left and took every dime we had I was instantly poor and that's when I found out that… Drs. dentists treat patients so different. It was like a tornado of awful Drs. Ive been to 27 Drs and finally found 1 , yes 1 that is kind and respectful. I also found that in Dr Brokoff and to be blunt , anyone writing bad reviews is probably because they are looking for a 6 month supply of pain killers. Hello people he's an oral surgeon NOT a drug dealer. Thank you and your team for your kindness , respect and time.

Dr Brokoloff swears at his patients. He belittles them and treats them with absolute zero compassion. Many patients have been traumitized by him. Read the countless reviews. All you have to do is google Dr Brokoloff Reviews and it’s one review after another. He is off his rocker. Extremely arrogant. He treats adults like they are children. You have to walk on eggs shells because just a about anything will set him off. So do yourself a favor....DO NOT LET HIM DO YOUR ORAL SURGERY!

I went to see Dr. Brokloff for bone grafts and implants. My experience was terrible. He brought me to tears both times. After my bone graft and implant placement I refused to return to him to have the final implant cap placed. But, I had prepaid the bill and my insurance was maxed out for this year. He has verbally attacked me and became defensive when I twisted my hands due to the pain and as an automatic response reached for my mouth. He grabbed my hand forcefully and said," don't do that or you are going to get hurt." His conversations during the procedure are usually about his sons soccer playing. He is rough with his instruments and does not give a crap if you gesture you feel what he is doing. I felt him cutting and he stated that this tissue is like leather it has been cut into so many times and proceeded to cut. He conducts his procedure as if the patient is under heavy sedation or general anesthesia and his rough. My last experience was terrible. He was probing the gum… with his finger and asking if I felt it and I did he kept probing and I felt it. He removed his finger and proceeded to lecture me that it was just his finger and it was not sharp and continued on this path and asked if I understood. He scolded me while my mouth is full of gauze and cannot respond to the question. I expressed thru the gauze" I UNDERSTAND." The anger on his face brought fear to me and I found a spot on the ceiling and focused on it and hoped it would end soon. He glared at me and proceeded to tell me how he and I were not on the same page since he started. How dare he scold a patient who is helpless and in a less than optimal position to have a conversation. I am a health care professional and this is not that way it goes. I would have been reported to the board and fired on the spot. This has left me scarred for life. There was not a caring word from anyone not a wipe of a tear. Nothing. My initial injury was a broken nose, jaw and severe concussion with many oral surgeries over 2 years not all done by him. I have never written on a web page of a health provider but, I could not let this be unsaid.

He is very unprofessional. Refused to service me because "we were not a good match", like we were on a date or something!

Surgery for extractions on a Monday, excruciating pain by Friday, attempted to contact the office Friday and the office was closed. Thank goodness for his answering service--WRONG! The service was extremely rude and Dr. Brokloff NEVER returned the call; thus, ended up in the ER with infection requiring a different, stronger antibiotic and additional pain medication. It is incomprehensible, never mind unprofessional, that Dr. Brokloff would not return a phone call!! He certainly had no problem taking payment!! Absolutely no compassion from this doctor. I would NOT recommend this office.

Start off I'm scared of any type of dental work done. I will say dr. Brokloff was very upfront to me about everything. He was very professional in a real down to earth guy I could trust. I was very pleased with the operation.He got me in and out in no time. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to take the next step, in an smiling again. Thank you
