Dr. John Kevin Burgers, MD

Dr. Burgers is a great surgeon but also a good person. He took the time to answer all my questions . He was very direct about what to expect. His staff was very professional and kind. I really appreciated the care I received during this scary time.

The operation went vey well. I am very pleased with whole experience. One thing I really appreciated was ten days later when I went in to have my catheter removed I was having serious aniexty. I have aniexty issues, the nurse removing the cath really handled the whole deal great keeping me calm, and the whole process was painless.

Just had a prostate biopsy. He was very good at explaining everything that he was going to do before he did it.

I am writing this for my spouse. Dr. Burgers is excellent! BUT....his staff is far from being courteous. I know dealing with patients can be difficult at times, but I consider my spouse and myself as being very good patients and polite. I tried to contact the front desk 1/2 hour prior to my spouseâ??s appt to inform them that he was stuck in traffic - office was not open, tried again at 9 am - a staff member answered was quite RUDE. I had informed her of his situation, then had to repeat myself, was placed on-hold, and then basically was told to contact my spouse, because he might have to reschedule! I tried to explain that he should be there soon, but she basically asked me to contact him so he could talk with them ASAP. I hung up, spoke to my husband - who was walking into the office as we spoke (5 mins prior to his appt). Then moments later, my husband called me back to verify his insurance, because they stated it was inactive and he would have to pay for this visit. It… wasnâ??t inactive. Another staff member took the information and saw that the insurance was active and all was good. I would hope that this staff member was just having a bad day, but when you are dealing with patients, you have to change your attitude or the doctors need to have someone else deal with the patients. The front desk staff is the first source of contact for patients, and needs to be more compassionate and understanding, if not, they need to get a different job.

HE HAS DONE THOUSANDS OF PROSTATE CANCER RELATED SURGERIES. HE IS THE BEST!

I would highly recommend Dr John Burgers for anyone who has Prostate Cancer or any other Prostate issues. He took the time to explain the the options and side effects of several treatment options. It has been a year and a half and am feeling great. I had also visited the James Cancer Hospital and was not as impressed with them as I was with Riverside and John.

Excellent. Dr. Burgers removed all of my cancer and so far my side affects have been minimal. I wouldn't hesitate to recomment him to any one!!!!!!!!!

He is awesome, skilled, quick and efficient. He saved my husband's life because he was off the table by the times he developed ST elevation in recovery room and was later diagnosed with windowmaker- 90% blockage of the LAD and he had emergency surgery 5 days later that was very successful. The cardiovascular surgeon was in awe how my husband made it thru surgical procedure with him. Dr Burgess answer I was fast. Yes indeed, he was fast lots of kudos to him. Both surgeons saved my husband and to God be the Glory.

Dr Burgers is an excellent Dr and surgeon I would recommend him to anyone with prostate cancer

Dr.Burgers ranks among the very best physicians I have encountered. He is exceptionally knowledgeable, able to explain difficult topics in simple terms, and is caring and compassionate during treaatment. His skills as a surgeon are exceptional; he came with the highest recommendations from my referring urologist, and he exceeded even those recommendations.
