I just read some of the comments about Dr Calado and am blown away. He has been my physician for over 20 years, Diagnosed pneumonia’s, leaves no stone unturned when it comes to diagnostic procedures. Medicine is a process of ruling out illness, not just picking one that symptoms fit. Most symptoms cross the boundary of illness. In 2008 he literally saved my life; when the team of Dr’s were considering a benign illness, and when the lab waited to long to re test spinal fluid, he stuck by his guns with a diagnosis of Enchepalits, One that not only did the head of Neurology at U/Mass agree with, so did the Head of Neurology at U of Mich. No one is perfect, We are not perfect patients and if you do not connect with him, find another Dr. I had 3 in my life. my pediatrician, an internal medicine doctor until his retirement and now Dr. Calado. I know that if I am in the hospital and even when I am not, he is going to always think outside the box to ensure he has not missed… something, or something new has affected our overall wellbeing.

It is with a heavy heart that due to ongoing and internal factors I cannot divulge detailed, paramount (and irrefutable) information/ Evidence regarding the epitome of who should never be given a license to practice euthanizing animals let alone "medicine." No matter how desperate please do not subject yourself to further suffering. It can be tedious but I encourage everyone to research further. You can find exactly who you're dealing with without having to almost die before knowing the real activities and truths about Dr. Death

There is something hard to define about Dr John B Calado DO. He certainly has the qualifications to be an excellent physician. However, I was with him for two years and he likes finding problems to treat, even if there aren't any previously existent. Some doctors like to prescribe pills for every condition. Dr. Calado is one of them -- and he generally prescribes the strongest in class, sometimes multiple scripts at the same time, along with many hospital tests, which is okay if you have a problem, but should not be protocol you do not have symptoms. After he ran up almost $10K in tests on my insurance and prescribed another $10K in prescriptions, I was done. Admittedly, he may have uncovered conditions I was not aware of, I began to doubt whether his recommendations were just to increase his payback. After switching to another doctor, I believe his judgement was somewhat financially motivated. I would recommend persons considering this doctor be extremely wary. His methods… will definitely cost you more money. I cannot speak as to whether they are justifiable or not.

Quick to prescribe pills. Someone very close to me has a known addiction and he just keeps writing this person script after script. He is a hack who needs investigated

After many visits and many diagnosis he became frustrated because he couldn't find out what was'wrong' with me. Made me feel like I was a problem or bother to him. He did do a lot of testing but said he couldn't figure it out. After several medications and visits I finally decided to seek another opinion. Good thing I did. My new doctor found that I had uterine cancer! I'd be dead if I was still seeing this hack. Rude, condescending and hostile are the 3 top things that come to my mind when describing Calado. I hope he recalls who I am and never treats another patient as he did me

Rude staff, misdiagnosis, hard to get prescription medication.

Dr Calado has poor bedside manners, rude staff and office manager, very hard to get appointment and is quick to push pills. Even one time I was told to go to the er or urgent care because he did not have an opening to see me for a bladder infection. Today was the bombshell, after telling the Dr. how upset I was that they cost me an extra 200.00 because he refused to write my husbands script for 90 days instead of 30, my total cost ended up being 700.00 and could of been 500.00, he suggested I find another doctor because I seemed unhappy. I have been a patient for many yrs and never complained. I WILL NOT be going back to see him again. TAKING HIS ADVISE.

When you want to find a great doctor you ask the people in the hospital for a recommendation. They know who are the best physicians because the work with them everyday and see their results on a daily basis. When they tell you they would (or do) send their mother to them that is the highest complement they can give. Dr. Calado gets a lot of his referrals from the people he works with at the hospitals. As far as ease of appointment goes if he wasn't good he would not be busy. As far as promptness goes if he didn't take time with his patients he would always be on time. Why will people wait an hour at a restaurant and think nothing of it but can't wait a half hour in a doctor's office to see someone good. I have been in healthcare (not as a provider) for over 35 years and most be would not know a great doctor if they seen one. It is your health that matter not bed side manner.

Staff does not know how to fill out Blue Care Network paperwork. They make sure your copay is increased.
