If you can look pass the George Hamilton tan and dyed hair. He might make a mediocre MD. His office staff is in question and he has covered for them on more than one occasion. My opinion there are better and far more PROFFESIONAL neurosurgeons out there, Stay away from this ego filled self serving so called DR

Dr Cantando prescribed wrong meds. I complained. Said it was a " Simple " mistake. Ok so when you operate on me. "Oh sorry removed C-6 I should have done C-7. Plus he operates out of the sub par JFK low rsted hospital . Keep away from this semi professional

after 3 back surgery's i was in pain for over 25 yrs. visit Dr. J.D. Cantando with his Blessed hands and his great crew. i'm now totally free of pain. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Cantando really helped put my wife and I at ease when we found out that she was diagnosed with acromegaly, a macroadenoma pituitary tumor. He answered all of our questions clearly and concisely. He helped smooth out the entire journey leading up to surgery. The process was daunting, yet Dr. Cantando's experience, professionalism, friendly and calm disposition really assisted us through the process. We would definitely recommend him and his team (ENT Surgeon Dr. Archilla) to anyone requiring neurosurgery. The only suggestion I have is for the practice and not Dr. Cantando- that is to have a slightly better communication medium between staff and patients. The office assistants can be sometimes difficult to reach due to personnel moving daily between the satellite offices.

He destroyed the level operated on my lumbar spine, told me that it was a simple surgery and would only require a 1 - 1 1/2" incision and no bones would have to be cut. He did a 3 1/2" incision, hemilaminectomy, facectomy, and never even got all the disc herniation because he took the wrong approach for a far lateral herniation. The facet ended up fracturing and required additional surgeries. Left with severe sciatica, being fused, and scarring all around nerve root. Wish I would have never had the operation.

My deepest thanks to Dr. John Cantando, Neurosurgeon for giving me a spine I've never known. 4 weeks, 3 days post op and I just knocked out 1 1/2 miles on the treadmill, 10-20 second held squats and my daily PT exercises. I'm being super careful but what a difference!!

The secretary in the Boynton Beach Office lacks empathy and compassion. My husband was in severe pain and needed a place to lie down and she told us we needed to finish paperwork first. He ended up laying on the floor in the waiting room for a good 20mins. Also, the office is very hard to reach and the surgery coordinator also lacks empathy and compassion. Too bad you have to go through these people to get to the Physician.

If I was not in so much pain I would have walked away. The receptionist lacked empathy or compassion.

Dr. Cantando performed a dual surgery on my 82 year old father. My dad had been in so much pain for nine months; he could barely walk a couple of minutes before he had to sit down, but only a few weeks after surgery, my dad is pain free. Dr. Cantando, his office staff, and support staff at JFK Hospital were amazing before, during, and after surgery. My mom was anxious over my dad's surgery and he was so patient answering all of my mom's questions to ease her concerns. We are so grateful.
