Dr. John Anthony Caras, MD

This guy is a quack with a poor bedside manner. He is the rudest physician I have ever had. I can't believe he has any patients left.

When I was first referred to this doctor, I was a little apprehensive because I read some other reviews on him that weren't so nice. What I found was a straightforward, tell it like it is doctor. I think he's wonderful. I had been seeing another doctor for 8 months and he told me nothing and did nothing but run tests. Dr. Caras has done more for me in 2 visits than that other doctor did in 10! He takes the time to explain my blood tests so that I understand what is going on. I feel like I finally have hope that someday I'm going to feel better after years and years of going to doctors and being made to feel like it was all in my head. His staff is wonderful too and I've never had to wait for my appointment. He's very prompt.

HE IS A OLD SCHOOL DOCTOR! YOU HAVE TO HELP YOUR SELF OR HE CANT HELP YOU! HES VERY GOOD AT HIS JOB! HES BEEN DOING IT FOR A LONG TIME. HE HAS A NEW STAFF AND THEY ARE VERY GOOD! PLEASE COME IN AND SEE FOR YOUR SELF!

Treats patients with a condescending and can't be bothered with a "sick" patient, basically calling you a hypochondriac for wanting to treat your illness in a proactive manner. We will be going to a real doctor that actually has been to school in the last 20 years that may actually know something more than how to be rude to patients. If I want rude, I will go to Walmart.

I had a very good first appointment with Dr. Caras! His receptionist and nurse were very friendly and helpful! I'm looking forward to having Dr. Caras and his staff take care of my health needs!

this has to be the rudest, uncaring, unprofessional doctor I have ever met and I have seen several thru my years. Went to "Dr." Caras on four occasions and he never figured out what was going on and even put me on a medication for my thyroid that was opposite of what it should have been. My current doctor even told me it was possible grounds for a lawsuit. It doesn't help that his receptionist or nurse is a hag. If you enjoy your life and your health stay away from this hack!

I agree with all the other comments stating that he doesn't like to be bothered and won't listen to patients. He is very rude and condescending. Seeing him is a total waste of time and a serious risk to your health. Carass put me on some unnecessary expensive statin drugs that I no longer take. He tried to keep me on alot of unnecessary medicine including insulin. I had low blood sugar all the time while I was taking it. I had to go to a GP to be put on the correct diabetic medication. I was told Caras's office would be in contact with me regarding tests, etc. and they never called. I would always have to call them. They would not give any information over the phone. They made you come in so they could bill you for an office visit even if he only spent two minutes reading you some results he could have told you on the phone or sent in a letter. Onc time they called and told me to come in so he could talk to me. When I got there he came in the room and said "what am I seeing you for… today?" Another time I called him on the weekend because I was having a problem with some medicine he prescribed and he screamed at me on the phone and then hung up on me. He was insanely mad because I bothered him on a Sunday. I couldn't really understand him but I think he said you haven't been on this medicine long enough to have any side effects and this medicine would never cause such side effects anyway. The information that came with the medicine clearly stated the medicine could cause the side effects I was having and to contact the doctor about them immediately. Also, my insurance company is questioning why he never performed certain tests that should be routine. I pray that I can someday find a good endocrinologist because I desperately need one. In the meantime I will just see a GP because nobody else around here seems to care.
