He is in both honorary scouting societies - Order of the Arrow and Mic-O-Say. He has been a cubmaster, an assistant scoutmaster, a campmaster, and a scoutmaster for Kansas City's contingent of scouts that attended the National Boy Scout Jamboree in 1997.
