Dr. John Wallace Chambers JR., MD

Dr. Chambers has been our pediatrician for more than a decade. He is caring, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. He listens attentively to our questions and concerns–– not just mine, but also the children's–– and his friendly manner puts us at ease. Because my autistic son finds communication challenging, many people do not patiently take the time he needs to express himself. Dr. Chambers and his nurses are an exception. They are always kind to my son, actively seeking his input. Dr. Chambers is respectful of decisions I make. I highly recommend him and his team.

Dr. Chambers is the primary care physician for both of my sons (almost 2 and almost 4) and he has always been excellent in handling them and me. He has seen us through two hospital visits plus all the usual well/sick visits with infants/toddlers. I think he does a great job explaining options and letting me make decisions. He's also careful NOT to jump to conclusions, which is especially good when I'm looking for perspective. The office is very clean and nice (my boys love the fish tank), the staff have been friendly, and appointments are easy to get (same day if you don't mind seeing someone else).

Dr. Chamber's is not the primary physician for my son, but we have seen him twice in the last 3 months due to my son's illesses. Dr. C is a part of a wonderful staff, and has plenty of credentials to successfully do his job, and he has taken good care of my son when we were in his care. My probelm lies with the way he treated me. I felt the entire time like he had nothing but contempt for me, and he found many ways to express that. Our first visit both my fiance' and I were there, and Dr.C would praise him, and his answers and almost mock me and my answers. The most recent visit was about the same tone. Condisending, and masoginistic would be a couple words I would use to describe the dialog. Again, he took great care with my son, but once the appointment was over he opened the door wide and let my son run out into the foier....!!!! (It happened so fast, I hardley realized he had even opened the door before my son was already down the hall) He is almost 2 and runs like the wind! … I had to chase him down, leaving my purse, my son's diaper bag, and our toys in the room while Dr. John Chamber's just watched and smiled. UNACCEPTABLE!I will pay the ER co-pay before sitting through another appointment with this man!
