About Dr. Clotworthy
Dr. John O. Clotworthy was born in New Orleans and has lived in the Greater New Orleans area most of his life. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from LSU Dental School and spent two years in the Navy treating our service personnel. He then completed a two-year orthodontic residency at LSU. Dr. Clotworthy received the award for first place post-graduate research from among all residents in the various specialties.
Upon graduation, Dr. Clotworthy accepted a position to teach as an assistant professor of orthodontics in the LSU Department of Orthodontics. He also began a private practice of orthodontics in Metairie, LA. After ten years of teaching, Dr. Clotworthy is now exclusively in private practice. He remains active in orthodontic education by attending local and national meetings, and has served in leadership roles as past president of the LSU Orthodontic Alumni Association and the Louisiana Orthodontic Association.
Dr. Clotworthy is married and has …one daughter and two grandsons. His favorite pastimes are enjoying the outdoors, playing golf, bike riding, hiking and traveling with his family.
Dr. Clotworthy is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association.
