Dr. John Lancaster Coe, MD

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Coe’s since the 1990’s. He is hands down above all the rest in Redding. He listens and does his best to give total care for his patients. I wouldn’t trade him for the world. Thank you Dr. Coe, you are the bomb!

I knew Dr. Coe as a docent at the Carter House Natural Science Museum long before I knew he was a doctor. I became a patient of his when he was still in private practice and stayed with him when when he went to the Mercy Family Clinic. Even after moving out of the area, I still came back for a last visit before finding a new doctor. If I were to move back, I would try to be seen by him again.

This Dr is just a general practioner and yet if you’ve met some of his patients, you would see that he is constantly pushing high daily doses of various addictive pain medications... After years of handing out these drugs like they were candy, you would think he would have enough self respect to recuse himself from his “So called Helping=Pain pills=Major Addiction” and tell her he can not help her and send her to a Pain Clinic or a specialist that can. Nope, it’s all about $$$ for him and getting her monthly fix of drugs; for pain, for sleep, for nerves, for psychiatric reasons...she’s got it or will get it. And he grabs his prescription pad and writes away. He should be ashamed of himself and I hope one day he gets investigated. If I have my way, his office and prescription’s will be audited. She’s an addict. Addicted to legal painkillers and other heavy drugs because of him! She’s done absolutely nothing with her life all because of him. She started out years ago with bad… periods, and then it was fibromyalgia and now years later she has everything known to man. She keeps finding new ways to add to her sickness just so she can keep getting her drugs. She just sits all day now doing absolutely nothing. She can barely walk anymore. And is constantly claiming she’s in pain. Because of a bad auto accident? Nope. Work injury? Nope. Bad Doctor who over prescribes? Yes!! Does he care. No! If you’re looking for a doctor who will easily prescribe you restricted drugs. Dr. Coe is the General Practioner for you!

This Dr. is excellent, but the office management has ample room for improvement.

Dr. Coe has a great deal of knowledge on all medical concerns and has always followed up on medical concerns that I have had. Unfortuneately he does not accept new patients.
