Dr. John K Corless, MD

Outstanding experience; a tip o’ the hat to Dr. Corless and the entire staff.

Dr. John Coreles, MD is an excellent specialist in the field of gastroenterology. He is empathetic toward his patients. He is extremely proficient with procedures. Good clinical judgement is utilized when evaluating his patient. He takes time to listen to their concerns, and explains issues extremely well to his patients. In this changing world of medicine, we need more doctors of his caliber.

This doctor was an hour late for my appointment and then cut my appointment short and told me that I was only allotted so much time for my appointment and that he needed to move on to the next appointment. He made time to talk about himself during MY appointment but didn't explain to me what is going on with me. He just scheduled more tests and played me some music on his phone. And he was rude to his staff in front of me. Very unprofessional.

Dr. Corless is THE worst doctor I have ever had the misfortune of having to see. My first indication should have been that I had to wait over an hour and a half to be seen. When he finally saw me, he didn't appologize but made jokes/excuses blaming his previous patients and his staff. I found his comments to be unprofessional. He made me uncomfortable and made some extremely inappropriate comments towards me and my physical appearance. On my second visit, I brought my mom with me, in which he made an inappropriate comment about her appearance as well. We shouldn't have to listen to cat calls in what should be a professional environment. He also didn't do anything to help me with my diagnosis. Ultimately, I switched to a different doctor within the office, which was a process, however I have been very happy with my current doctor who has been extremely curtious and professional as well as the staff.

Very condescending, uninformed, makes inappropriate comments, arrogant and demeaning. Horrible bedside manor.

You are not going to believe this, but Dr. Corless practically slept through my last appointment. His eyes were closed almost the whole time. He is blunt and needs to improve on his bedside manner. He is critical. He very much makes you aware that he has no extra time to spend when you ask an extra question and moves onto the new patient. When I told him I had diverticulous (sp?), he did not examine me physically, but only asked a couple of questions.

Corless was a bad doctor for me. He makes borderline rude comments. He first said he would cure me without much problem but did not accomplish anything except taking my money. He first appeared to be patient and caring but after 2 or 3 visits, he makes you feel quite uncomfortable like you are waisting his time. Incompetent doctor.

I don't mind if a doctor runs behind. But, if the wait is 2 hours, a courtesy call would have been appreciated! Very poor communication with patient. Seems too busy and uncaring. When asked a question about surgery, his response was that he had another patient to get to. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.

John Corless is a wonderful doctor. He is extremely knowledgeable and truly cares about his patients. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a gastroenterologist.

Have been fortunate in my life to always have the very best medical care including specialists in Beverly Hills, Manhattan, Atlanta, and Charleston. Members of my family as well as two of my closest friends are/have been physicians. Dr. Corless is top notch from a technical/analytical standpoint and could not be better in patient care..i.e bedside manner. In 1995 he became suspicious about what I assumed was a G.I. issue and sent me to a cardiologist who detected arrythmia. He correctly identified a gallbladder issue 2 years before it had to be removed and arranged for perhaps the best surgeon in Charleston to do the surgery. His followup(either in his office or phone) is unbeatable. My father taught over 4000 medical students before he retired and I'm pretty confident he would have given Dr. Corless an A+.
