Dr. John Coscia JR.

Having never been pregnant, I was in for my first OB ultrasound with my husband, an appointment that I was very much looking forward to. Dr. Coscia did not even greet us but rather, with his back to us as we entered the room, began spewing the results. I found him to be very insentitive, completely lacking compassion and oblivious to the fact that this was an important moment in our lives. As he bagan speaking, with his back to us, I interrupted and said "hello" at which he briefly turned around, said hello and continued about his findings. While the clinical results are still inconclusive, the message could have been delivered with some degree of concern or empathy for our situation. Understandably, radiologists read these scans all day long and often deliver the same message repeatedly but Dr. Coscia may wish to recognize that these experiences are not routine for the patient and that there is a family behind the delivery of any message. I was thoroughly unimpressed with his… bedside manner.
