Dr. John Cox, MD

I can recommend Dr. John Cox without any hesitation. He clearly loves his work and his focus is on saving lives. Let me just say that Moffitt and 4 other names I was given upon cancer diagnosis refused to treat cancer patients on the basis of their (mine also) insurance. Dr. Cox’s practice treats you first and worries about payment second. He is a talented surgeon and explains everything in a calming, thorough, and compassionate manner. I have complete confidence in his diagnosis and the treatment plan he outlined. Everyone in his office including him is personable and professional. I haven’t had a problem with wait time—but great doctors like Dr. Cox are worth it.

Dr. Cox simply stated: completely loves what he does! He made the entire scary process feel 1000 times less intense as and intimidating. Great! GREAT! Guy!

I was referred to Dr. Cox due to lumps in my breast. I had to wait over an hour in the exam room and he when he did come to my room, he spent less than 1 minute in there with me as his patient. I felt like another number. I didn't feel cared for. He is not a very good listener. I even had to ask for diagnostic tests. His "exam" was sub par and lacked medical professionalism. I left without any real answers. I am a Registered Nurse by profession and know protocol when it comes to medical care. I have valid concerns and taking vitamins as he suggested is not giving me any real answers to my problems. Let's start with diagnostic testing and then go from there. I'm still in tremendous pain and having to start back over with another doctor per my comfort. I was informed by his office to hold off on doing the mammogram and ultrasound that my OBGYN wrote for me because they can do the ultrasound in the office. That did not happen at all. I have no answers and now have to wait to have it done… with the script that my OBGYN wrote. I will not be returning to him for services.

When you are going through something such as cancer. You need a doctor who cares and makes you feel confident in him. He is never in a rush to talk to you, he listens and if you bring your family in he will talk to them as well. I would most definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a doctor. Thank you Doctor Cox.

Dr. Cox is caring and compassionate. From the moment I walked into his office, I felt at ease and he answered my questions. He even took the time to call me and talk me "off the ledge" when I thought I couldn't do radiation. His staff is wonderful! If you need a doctor and staff that really care about you then this is where you need to be!

In a word, awesome. Wonderful caring man and I felt well taken care of I'm my time of scare. Would highly recommend him to any women looking for caring personal attention. I should add that his office gal, Brenda is lovely, a wonderful, bubbly, caring personality. I am in good hands!

Makes you feel at ease immediately, calming personality. Listened and answered honestly and confidently. Conservative practice. Radiologist suggested mri, he said absolutely not needed. Highly recommend!

Dr. Cox was very rude and made me feel foolish for following my doctors instructions. Clearly he is frustrated with the system and should take an extended vacation. The possibility of breast cancer is very scary and emotionally taxing for the entire family. Dr. Cox appears afraid to mis-diagnose and blames other doctors for running unnecessary test ( his opinion) Hopefully for others with worse results then mine... He is a better surgeon.

Dr. Cox was recommended to me by two other doctors. He has an excellent reputation. His staff was great! Dr. Cox had the nicest bedside manner - very caring, explained everything thoroughly and answered all of our questions. Would recommend him to everyone.
