Dr. John Patrick Curtin, MD

Excellent physician. One of the few doctors who does not try to scare patients at every turn. He gets to the core of the issue and calmly explains without excessive verbiage and panic. I was (and still am) very sad that he is no longer at NYU Langone.

Along with totally curing me from advanced cancer, Dr Curtin is a kind caring Doctor.

Because of this Doctor and staff my mother is no more. When my mother had multiple procedures done for Her precancerous lesions caused by HPV we went to Dr. Curtain for a second opinion. They did a pap smear on her (not performed by Dr. Curtin, but his INEXPERIENCED staff) that they said was normal. Mind you this was the second pap done (first pap done by primary doctor showed it was abnormal). After that follow up was done every 6months during which pap was performed by staff (PA/NP etc..) all pap done results were always normal. After 2 years my mother had full blown stage 3 vaginal cancer because she always had active infection that either the doctor or the staff couldn't properly diagnose. No follow up colposcopys were done nothing was checked because it was never performed by the Doctor..Long story short my mother passed away recently after fighting this cancer which she wouldn't have if she was properly diagnosed and treated.. Then once she was diagnosed and the doctor was called… for follow up his answer was to bring her after 2 weeks meanwhile she was suffering from complications. A law suit will definitely be filed against this doctor and his carelessness..This is what happens in a busy practice you are not being looked at and diagnosed or treated by the physician..Do not go to this physician...

Iam a nurse, just have oophorectomy done by Dr.Curtin for large ovarian cyst. Before going to Dr.Curtin, I have extended research done trying to find the best doctor for my condition. I am very happy with my choice. Dr.Curtin is an outstanding surgeon, thorough and attentive, explained everything in details to me and my husband on our initial visit, answered all our questions. I would recommend this doctor without hesitation. He is best of the best.

I most highly recommend Dr. Curtin...He was concerned and pleasant. Answered all questions in a detailed mannor and made me feel very trust in him.My surgery went smoothly and I was out of the hospital the very next day, pain free.

Unbelievble...I had robotic surgery by Dr Curtin and I cannot speak highly enough of him in every way.I think he is just wonderful.

I had an enlarging Fibroid and was told that I needed a hysterectomy by one prominent surgeon for what could be a sarcoma. There was no solid evidence for this and I went to see Dr. Curtin for a second opinion. From the moment I stepped into NYU doors I felt cared for and attended to. Dr. Curtin took the time to look at my MRI and explain things in detail answering all my questions. His many years of experience showed as he suggested a well thought out protocol that put hysterectomy as a last resort. His surgical team and teaching fellow were outstanding and everything went as planned according to Dr. Curtin's astute hypothesis. The results were a benign fibroid and I cannot thank Dr. Curtin and his team enough for doing a uterine sparing operation and guiding me through this. I highly recommend this wonderful and caring doctor to anyone faced with tough decisions in need of critical advice.
