Dr. John A. Damergis

Dr. Damergis did not properly review my cranial MRI and completely missed brain damage that a second neurologist, a neuro-ophthalmologist, and a neurosurgeon identified in the same imaging. He assumed that my post concussive syndrome was completely psychological in origin and was dismissive, arrogant, and rude. He is one of the worst health care providers I’ve ever met.

Dr. Damergis has always been great to work with. I have a head injury that has also affected my sleeping as well as having Migraine headaches daily. I had a sleep study done at Noran Neurologic and found out my brain doesn't get Rem sleep. Dr. Damergis has been so easy to work with rather than just prescribing medications to make me sleep he has worked with me to change my sleep habits and how I prepare for getting the best night sleep I can get. It's nice that a doctor is looking for more options for the patient than just medications. He has been very helpful and listens to your ideas before making up his mind on how he is going to treat you. It's nice to have a doctor that let's you be part of the decision making on how you are going to proceed with your treatment.

From a Dr perspective, very competent and capable. However, his staff and processes are horrible. Appointments are exceptionally difficult to get and are months apart. One staff, Danielle, is so rude and condescending you wonder how she is employed. Sitting in the waiting room you are stuck overhearing the staffs juvenile conversations. Also, if you are 5 mins late, they will cancel your appointment. Very rigid and lack compassion

Dr D is the BEST

I found Dr. Damergis to be excellent and thorough in his medical field. However, I found his empathy, communication, and overall understanding of this patient to be sorely lacking. Appointments were months apart. He did not communicate the results of tests eather verbally or by letter. He told me months ago that I could not drive, but gave me no solid ways to handle this. I have been in Minnesota for 1 year. I have no really good friends who I can ask to take me to appointments, meetings, etc. The sleep apnea machine I got will not work adequately, I have called and asked for help. None has been offered. He is supposed to work with people who are depressed. His lack of action and communication have really depressed me. He has left me angry, hurt and bitter. This makes me sad because he could be a really good doctor.

Full services, including overnight clinic. Great guy, very easy going and communicates very well. Choices are made clear and left up to the patient appropriately.
