Dr. John Michael Demicco, MD

Don’t waste your time going here. They don’t care about you, they only care about the money. I was recently diagnosed with a autoimmune disease. A lot of things were going through my head, I was definitely very scared. My primary doctor referred me here since I needed to be seen by a rheumatologist. On my first appointment the nurses check me up, took my vitals and all of that as usual. Then his assistant came and started asking a lot of question, everything okay so far. Then “Doctor Demicco” came in for literally (I’m not exaggerating) just on minute, look at my hands since I was explaining that they were very swollen and in pain. After that he said they’re going to do some blood work and walked out of the room. Okay I said, it’s only the first visit. It’s usually like that. They told me to go again in like 2-3 weeks for all test results. I went back, the assistant provide me with the results and prescribed me some medicine. I had a lot of question since this was all new for me… and all she said “we’re not sure, oh I don’t know” she clearly didn’t have an answer. After that they I go in for another appointment. Expressed how I was feeling, the medication was giving me some TERRIBLE side effects and all she said was “that’s the only thing we can give you”. I also asked for some advices on my diet, what should I or not do. And all she said “you can try everything and see if it works or not” My whole point is they didn’t care at all. They didn’t put any effort on creating an individual and special plan for my symptoms. “doctor demicco” NEVER came to check me up or anything. So know if you go you won’t be seeing by him.... after that appointment they scheduled another one 3 months away!!! I didn’t go to that one since I seek for other doctor. NO ONE CALLED and reminded of me appointment. Or just to confirm if I was going, or how I was doing. AFTER 3 MONTHS! Yet a week later I received a bill from them. $40 fee for missing the appointment. They do remember that but no checking on their patients. Save your time and money and don’t go. Google will know more than the assistant....

This review would be zero stars but the Doctor's FNP Erin is very nice and knowledgeable but she told me she was a physician but her card says FNP. I specifically made the appt with the doctor as a new patient and when I arrived I saw his FNP. He had no intentions of coming into the exam room - I made her go and get him. He didn't ask me any questions, didn't check my joints , didn't give me any kind of exam once so ever. I have RA and C.R.E.S.T. and when I go to see a Rheumatologist I expect an exam to take place. I did my research and when his name comes up in a search it says Internist and Rheumatologist. I also saw nice reviews about him and his office but to not refill prescriptions over the phone is not right. Who has time to come to the office to get a refill and then will I be charged a copay for an office visit ? I will not be back.

He and his office have declined over the years, especially after the ACA was passed. Now when you go in for a checkup, refill (no refills over the phone) or anything simple, he will "require" a urine sample (which he'll bill your insurance $2500 for) and something similar. Don't want it, then he will not write you a prescription. Also performs a questionable medical test that's suppose to electrically monitor your body (and this one's $1500 to your insurance). Years ago he was a good doctor that was mostly concerned with his patients, now he's mostly concerned with milking every penny out of you and your insurance company that he can.

Very kind and knowledgeable dr. Would recommend to anyone. He is thorough in his diagnosis of your condition. Staff is nice and efficient. Had no trouble getting appt. or speaking to staff when needed.

Dr. Demicco is a fair doctor but his staff is difficult. When I call the office it rings 5 times then disconnects. It's hard to get through. The office manager won't return or accept calls.

Dr. Demicco is a fantastic doctor. He treats myself and my husband. Dr. Demicco takes time to listen to your concerns and issues. He also helps get to the bottom of you situation to help diagnosis you. He is a very wise doctor and that's very important. I would recommend anyone to him.

Very pleased with this physician's care and professionalism. I work in healthcare and he was recommended by his colleagues as being one of the "best docs" in Savannah.

he is outstanding

Excellent Physician, always accurate in his diagnosis's. He does not mind telling you the bad with the good. He is very good at recommending alternate ways of dealing with problems. His only downfall is his front desk staff. One in particular is very judge mental of patients and never smiles at them. I will not put her name here because he has probably received complaints in the past. But good staff overall is very hard to find. The rest of the actual medical team is very good as well as one of the desk clerks.

I've been going to John Demicco for close to 20 years now. I could never think about going to anyone else. He knows my work life, my family life, and takes it all into consideration when diagnosing my illnesses. Also, when I have my quarterly check ups for med reviews, he spends time with me just to see how things are going in general. The best bedside manner of them all and a true professional who knows his patients. Gotta love this man.
