Dr. John Anthony Demopulos, MD

Dr. Demopulos is the kindest, most compassionate, patient provider I’ve ever seen. He takes his time during your appointment to listen to all of your concerns and makes sure to address them all. He has changed his office staff in the last year and they are almost as great as the previous staff was, besides the Medical Assistant who is new and needs some more coaching as to how to converse with patients at an in-person appointment and over the phone, which she will learn in time. Overall, the office is a great environment and I would recommend Dr D to anyone I know. My husband is even switching over to his practice and has an appointment in May.

Dr Demopolis is the is the most attentive and kind person to his patients. Always has the right answers.

My 86 year old mother has been a patient for 20+ years of this man. She has always loved him. First let me say, my mother is very independent, living on her own taking care of her affairs and still driving. She started running fever and was very weak so I offered to take her to her appointment. I am not her caregiver, I have no legal rights or guardianship I am just her daughter. We waited an hour and 20 minutes to see him. He was nice but did not apologize for the wait, and after looking at mom and asking questions he decided she should be hospitalized. He was very kind. I was talking to my sister on the phone updating her, and she mentioned a flu test and reminded how ill she became after being admitted to the hospital last time. I tracked him down, and asked him if he could please do a flu test, he answered yes. I waited. He said in the hospital, I asked again can you do it here before she is admitted, to rule that out. He said no.. I asked him if he did not do… them in the office is that why, he answered me again very condescending this time, that we are doing it at the hospital. I asked why and then he continued in pure medical jargon that he knew I could not understand, so I said okay, can you please explain this to my sister and tried to hand him the phone and he said no, I will not. He also mentioned he did not have time. I also feel I should mention he spent 20 minutes with her, after us waiting an hour and 20 minutes, and was on his way out. I turned to the phone and told my sister he was being a jerk and would not talk to her. I understand I should not have said he was being a jerk, that was not kind. I had not used an ugly tone or expressed any anger up to that point and I did not say it to him, but to my sister. We were standing towards the front of the office where you check out, my mom was still in the room. He then told me to take my mom and get out. I am a little fuzzy on exactly what happened then but I was in tears trying to explain that we are just worried about our mom and would like to rule out the flu first since she tends to get sicker in the hospital and I was not thinking of this when he first mentioned hospitalization. He then said I don't care if you take her to the hospital or not just get her and get out. I went back to tell my mom who was just shell shocked, I kept thinking he would just tell me to mind my own business and apologize to my mom. She did not do anything wrong. He never did, he still has not. We had her records sent to another Dr. Luckily she did not have to be hospitalized, she had a bad virus and was dehydrated I know I should have not said he was being a jerk, but to treat my sweet mom that way is unacceptable. To say you do not care and to get out, to an 86 year old woman who had said nothing is just wrong. My mother said he was always so nice, and he was until I started asking questions. I actually just asked for a flu test. I just do not want anyone else to have this experience. I think he needs to retire.

He is consistently running 2 hours behind every time we have an appointment. His front office staff is rude rude rude. Nice doctor but not worth how long you have to wait to see him. My time is just as important as his.

Sometimes it takes longer to get the best! Not the appointment, the office staff is friendly, helpful and schedules as early as possible. Not the wait time once in the office. The last time I was there, I waited less than 10 minutes. But it takes me longer to get to the office of Dr. Demopulos as I do not live in Dallas. He has been my doctor for the past 10 years. He is professional, and knowledgeable. He listens. He is sincere. I will drive further to receive the excellent care I receive.

Dr. Demopulos is nice; HOWEVER, we are medicare patients and he sees us once every 6 months. At these visits he draws blood and checks your heart and blood pressure. We have now been waiting for 5 weeks for our blood test results!!! Every time we call about the results, the receptionist tells us all the results are on his desk waiting to be signed. Any doctor who is this far behind in informing patients about their blood work lacks in some ways. We are looking for a new doctor.

Excellent doctor. Very personal and personable. Takes time to talk to you and makes sure he understands what your needs are so he can help you.

He listens & takes time to understand all of one's health problems. He is thorough, but never appears rushed or annoyed by all the questions / concerns /requests. He, personally, interviews the patient concerning history & medications. We like the fact that if one of us would have to be hospitalized that he can be the admitting physician and would be involved in our care. Even though we had a short wait to see him, we did not mind because we know that he gives all of his patients the time required to effectively diagnose & treat each one.

Dr. Demopulos is one of the kindest (and most competent) doctors I have ever seen. I recommend him very highly. His nurse is excellent as well. His receptionist/office staff person is not welcoming and is very standoffish and unhelpful on the telephone. I'm sure the doctor is too compassionate to fire her, but he should speak with her and/or retrain her in her job.

DR. D is the best. He is VERY Caring....
