Dr. John F Dolena Jr., DO

I absolutely loved John Dolena! He is the best psychiatrist I have ever see. I appreciate the time and effort he puts into our appointments. I would most definitely recommend John to any of my friends! Thank you so much!

I was patient of his for a couple years now. He always made me feel that I could not tell him the truth unless I would be judged. He would try to tell me that I did not have a certain diagnosis even though all symptoms match and my psychologist said it would most likely be true. He would always me put on the spotlight and almost made me cry multiple times due to how harsh and uncomfortable he made me feel. He makes me feel weak and that whatever I am going to say he will use against me. I am happy for the people that he did help, but he has favorites and is very hard headed and usually tries to make it seem like what your feeling is irrelevant and wrong. He turns your words around to make you vulnerable. I suggest not going to him because I feel that you should go to someone that does not make you feel misunderstood, crazy, or worse than when you got into the office.

The Doctor lied about our son's diagnosis and wouldn't change it went confronted about it.The Doctor only saw our son two times in a 2 months period time and misdiagnosed our son with something he was clearly not,and stated to us that the only way it could be changed was that it had to be taken to another Doctor so it can be reviewed and corrected,even though he was in the wrong in the first place for doing it.The weird part was that he never really asked our son more than 4 questions in the 2 sessions that he saw him,he basicly spend more time talking to us than anything else.And the category that he diagnosed our son on was never the subject that was discussed in any of the conversations at any times.The man is a liar,and we don't know what his agenda is,but,it is not to help out others in need.He is a failure in his field,and we do not recommend him at all,do not see this man....he cannot be trusted at all,with any of your information or anything that you have to say about yourself… or your family.Karma will get the best of him soon.

I had heard from a number of people to avoid Dr. Dolena. But his location was convenient so I gave him a shot. Now I wish I had heeded their warnings! Dr. Dolina was arrogant, condescending and disrespectful toward me and the family-based providers working with my family. When challenged, he responded by blaming my tardiness (I was on time) and that “he’s the doctor and it’s his call who participated in the sessions.” Unbelievable. He never once let my child speak and proved that he didn’t give a crap about my family or our situation.

Quite honestly, I couldn't say it better than what the reviewer of December 21, 2014 revealed. The only other thing that would be important to share from experience is that he truly is clinically subpar as a child and adolescent psychiatrist and this has also been the prevailing opinion amongst other clients as well as other doctors .

My son has been seeing Dr Dolena for about 4 years now. We have never had problems getting an appointment and usually wait no longer than 5 minutes except once when there was an emergency and he came out and told us himself that he was sorry there would be a wait. He is extremely honest and straightforward which may be difficult for some people to hear but I appreciate the honesty. I feel he has always made my sons health a priority and is willing to help in any way he can.

THIS DOCTOR IS A LIAR AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILD! HE RUSHES YOU TO HIS APPOINTMENTS AND THEN ONLY SEES YOU FOR 10 TO 15 MINS. THEN HE BELITTLES YOUR SON/DAUGHTER ADOLESCENT. AND HE BLAMES YOU FOR ALL THE PROBLEMS YOUR CHILD MIGHT SHOW. THIS DR SHOULD HAVE HIS LICENSE TO PRACTICE REVOKED FOR GOOD. HE TRIES TO FIT 3 OR MORE APPOINTMENTS IN A 45 MIN TIME PERIOD SO HE CAN MAKE MORE $. THEN YOU GET THERE AND WAIT FOR 15 MINS AND ITS PAST YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME,AND HE BLAMES YOU FOR BEING LATE,SO LIKE I SAID HE CAN SEE MORE PEOPLE.HE IS A W**** TO THE SYSTEM AND MADE MY CHILD'S HEALTH WORSE. AND PHILHAVEN IS NO BETTER WITH THE PEOPLE THEY CHOOSE TO HIRE AND KEEP ON THEIR STAFF!!!!!!! I"D GIVE HIM NO STARS,BUT IT WOULDNT LET ME POST WITHOUT GIVING AT LEAST ONE.
