Dr. John Stephen Donovan, MD

Dr. Donovan ignored my son's tonsil issue and told him he was just obese. My son is overweight, but as his primary care doctor knows and has checked through blood work, he is healthy, but unable to lose weight due to trouble breathing and lack of sleep. Now, over 6 months later and after a required sleep study, we still need multiple appointments to get his tonsils out, which is exactly what the sleep study said. Remove his tonsils, then have him checked for other issues.

I came to see dr d exactly one year ago to the day. Was told I had cancer and needed surgery ASAP. Turns out I didn’t have cancer snd I’m still suffering from his procedure. I can’t taste my food, I choke on everything. My ears are plugged. He has been very rude and mean through this whole process. I now have to go to the tally to learn to swallow without choking. DO NOT HAVE THIS MAN TOUCH YOUR FACE!

I would run like heck if you are planning this surgery with this doctor. He messed my nose up so bad that a well known doctor told me he was so sorry this happened to me and he would refer me to OHSU to see if they could reconstruct it or not he said he wouldn’t even attempt to try to fix it .It was more than he was able to fix. Stay the heck away from this doctor.

I found him to be cold and condescending. He didn’t seem to really care, I just wanted to get out of the chair and walk out as soon as he started talking. I did not feel that he is empathetic.

Doctor did not not at my sons chart to know he has disability. Instead blame me for not telling him right away. Does not listen or explain anything throughly. Horrible attitude! Thanks to Donovan my son has pstd going to the doctors.

Dr. Donovan is great. He cured me in no time. He is skilled and confident. Also he is funny. You will like him and his surgery is like no other.

I received excellent care from Dr. Donovan and his surgical support staff. My thyroidectomy and recovery went smoothly. I highly recommend him.

I have seen this Dr on separate occasions for separate issues. I have found that he is very cold and treated me more like I was a notch on his daily chart number than a scared patient. I was made to feel stupid for even coming to him as if I had wasted his time. His staff is wonderful which throws into light even more the contrast of his horrible bedside manner.
