Dr. John Davey Douthit JR., DO

Don’t judge a book by its cover! Dr Douthit may not dress flashy like most Doctors but hands down he is the best Doctor I’ve ever seen. He caught several life threatening conditions that I have that North Suburban Hospital seemed to over look. I went to the er 3x in a week and they kept sending me home. I saw Douthit and He took one look at my scans and sent me to St Anthony’s ER. He also contacted them prior to me getting there and let them know why he was sending me and to expect me. I have several brain aneurysms and a blocked carotid artery in my neck- if Douthit hadn’t known what he was doing I wouldn’t be here today! My Husband and I have been patients of Douthit for almost 10 years, he takes time to listen to us and makes sure we understand what is going on with our health each time. His staff is always helpful and respectful when we need them as well.

Just save your time and money and Google your symptoms, that's what he does.

I was a patient of his for 6 years. I have serious back pain and the only choice I have is surgery or continue to take pain medication. I am enrolled in the Colorado Drug Program. I went to this idiot to have my prescription refilled for pain, and he told me he had back pain and he does not take pain medication. lol Now he is the doctor who has prescribed the medication to me since 2013, now all of a sudden he tells me I do not need it. He is a lunatic. He then told me he was no longer going to treat me, and for me to find a new physician. I believe based on this experience the man should not be practicing medicine and possibly needs some for being bipolar. I am most certainly going to file a complaint with with State Medical Board, and I encourage everyone else who has had problems with the lunatic do the same. As you can see from the number of reviews he obviously has issues. I did not know any of this until filing this review. Previously I have had no problems with the care he… provided me. The man needs meds or psychological help.

I feel he needs to go back to school or retire. He carrys around a book to look up a RX to give you. All the girls that work there are snotty and rude. God forbid if you need anything if they are playing their games on the computer. The office is so dirty. One thing good is there is no waiting list. Coz nobody goes there.

He's a pretty okay guy and know's what he's doing. I'd recommend him.

Literally the worst doctor I have ever seen. Most Physicians' Assistants I've visited give better care than this supposed "doctor". Refers me to a specialist for literally every problem I visit for. Makes me come in and pay a copay just to get refills of long-term medications just to make more money. The only thing he seems genuinely concerned about is that everyone become a vegetarian like him, and buy some book that the majority of his medical advice comes from.

Dr. Douthit is awkward, lacks confidence, does not provide sufficient care and is very hard to schedule with. Every time I have seen him I have told him what I suspect is wrong with me, and he does nothing more to exam my suspicions, he just writes a prescription. He rude, speaks to his patients in a degrading tone and is in my opinion, a boarder line quack!

I didn't care for Dr. Douthit's disengaged manner, nor for the impression overall that he understood or wanted to understand my condition.
