Dr. John Anthony Dowdle, MD

Not sure of why the many negative reviews. I have seen Dr. Dowdle for lower back and spine problems. He has always listened patiently, was thorough in explaining things, I never felt rushed or brushed off. I think he is very sympathetic, knowledgeable and kind. Sure seems to me he has the best interest of the patient in his heart.

Great guy really knows his stuff

I went to see dr.dowdle after an auto accident. most of the examine was done by some nurse! then he sat there and told me there was nothing wrong with me, never haven taken any x-rays or an mri!! later in a report for the insurance company he said I have myoligimentosous, I found out years later that I have at least four damaged disked in my upper spine! if he would have paid a little more attention and care to what I told him at the time I could have got the proper medical attention I needed!!

The first time I went in, I switched to this m.d. as I was in excruciating pain and could get in with him sooner. He diagnosed my initial back problem. Even then I waited for him while I heard him talking and laughing with colleagues...and I sat...and I sat. The second appointment, I don't think he had read the things sent to him or read the MRI, he only noted a couple of issues. Then he gave me some information and said he would call me back about one part of my diagnosis. After a week I called and was told that what he told me was not correct. And that was that for the help there. Hmmmm. Why did I spend my time going there for that? Personally he tried to be nice, but again I waited long times when he left the room. I know a lot about his family!

This doctor acted like I was just a whiner. I broke my tailbone when I was 15 years of age. (I saw him at the age of 44.) I went to see him because of problems I was having and he took an X-Ray. I told him I had canstant pain. He just acted like my tailbone was not that badly deformed or that I may have been making it up. It is now 6 years later and I am still in pain. He was a waste of time to go to see. He could have looked further into the X-Ray or had me at least do exercises Something besides make me feel guilty for wasting his time. Yes-the way you treat people does matter these days when people can put it up online.

Dr. Dowdle and I go back a long way, he has done a few surgeries on myself. He is always smiling, listening , answers all questins, and never ever pushes you out the door,like he has to run and eat lucnh. This is a Dr. I have admired for many years, and would recomend him to anyone who asks for a great Ortho Dr.

i was told to see this doctor because for an auto accident. his nurse did the exam, made me wave my arms, bend over!! dr. dowdle then came in and sat down and told me there was nothing wrong with me!! basically the insurance company paid this dr. for his nurse to examine me!!! he never took any images, if he would have done an mri!!! he would have seen the damage to the disks in my back and neck,and the one disk in my neck up against my spinal cord!!!

I first saw Dr. J. Dowdle back in the 80's, he fixed my failed fusions I had previously, 4 to be exact. The results were excellent as well as he was. Sometimes running late, but worth waiting to see, he always took time to ask and answer any questions you might have. I would recommend him to God If I could. You won't be disappointed in this wonderful Doctor. I respect him immensely.
