Everyone at the office is really kind, courteous and professional...

At the time our family needed the most kindness and understanding Dr. Duchak provided us with a non caring attitude and complete rudeness! Please think about how someone feels when they are told they will be passing soon! This just broke our hearts for our family that is already going through such a devastating time!??

He is incompetent and rude, seems to have a god complex. Takes no interest in anything but micromanaging INR.

I visited John’s Office to have some tests interpreted. He walked in and never introduced himself. He seemed more interested in leaving the room than listening to me. With my chart in front of him, mind you, he asked if I had high blood pressure. I said no. The medicine has kept it in check. He jumped out of his chair and lectured me for several minutes that I had high blood pressure, but the medicine was just masking the problem. It felt like I forgot my homework in second grade again. I did not care what he told me after that. I vowed to find a cardiologist who had a heart. I am flabbergasted at the 5.0 ratings. That is not the John I met.

My husband sees Dr. Duchak and I went with him to an appointment. His bedside manner is seriously lacking. He never smiled once during the visit. He doesn't beat around the bush which I can appreciate but he almost seemed annoyed. "Your blood pressure is still to high, you need to get that down". "Your cholesterol is too high, that needs to be lower, and you should be doing 30 minutes of continuous activity such as walking or a stationary bike". My husband has PAD and needs a bypass in his left leg due to blockage, which I would think Dr. Duchak should know. My husband stated "well with my leg I can't walk or bike 30 minutes it's too painful". Dr. Duchak said "Yea, I've heard every excuse in the book". Really? Like that isn't a legitimate problem?? He wasn't very understanding and was really blunt/brusque, which apparently is his style. My husband left upset and thinking he would rather find another cardiologist.

I have to say Dr. Duchak III has no bedside manor or regard for his patients. I recently took my mother to see him for a follow up visit and he told her she was on "borrowed time". He asked her if she was diabetic (Hello....you have been treating her for the last 15 years) and told her terrible that disease was and wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy). I know he is a straight shooter with information which I appreciate but somewhere along the way he has lost his compassion for his older patients. I felt like he has put my mom out to pasture. I wonder if this was his mother if he would have spoke to her in the tone he did to mine. Also, the nurses at the hospital say he treats them rudely like his patients. I hate to write this in such a negative tone and I have waited several weeks so I could be objective my review. Please Dr. Duchak, show your patients compassion.

This doctor needs to go back to school to study how to tread his patients. I got out of his office with tears in my eyes and with humiliation and intimidation feelings . I had visited his office because of heart attack symptoms. He opened the door of the room I was in (not wide and without even getting inside the room) to tell me: "I don't see anything wrong with you; you need to go and see your family doctor!!!" (period). His whole conversation with me was about 10 seconds!!! I don't like how he treated me. I will not choose this doctor again and I don't recommend him to any human being.
