Dr. John Roberts Dupre, MD

I am a COPD and Emphysema patient. It's important that I keep up with my Respiratory System. I visited Dr. Dupre and he sent me over to the Hospital, for an XRay. For 3 weeks I never heard what the results of the XRay showed. Called after called to his office for the results. Never heard back. 3 weeks later I went to the ER with a fever of 103. The ER Dr. took a XRAY came back to me and said you had an XRay here 3 weeks ago. He then said Well your XRay tonight shows Pneumonia and the XRay you took 3 weeks ago, also showed Pneumonia. I banned Dr. Dupre from giving any care to me. His office staff will ruin his practice.

Very curtious, listened to all my questions and answered each one. Was very attentive and understanding.

Staff is lacking effort.

I received a statement reflecting I had a balance of $27.40 & I had verification from insurance company that I had a 0 balance. I called Physician's Billing (the company handling the billing) and was told it was taken care of. Having an appointment with Dr. Dupre, I carried documents with me & to make sure all was well, I talked with the office staff (showed the verification I had) verifying that I owed Dr. Dupre nothing. I was told the system had a 0 balance and it would be ok if I discarded the documents. NOT SO, I recently received a bill threatening to send me to Credit Collectors if NOT PAID. This statement is upsetting because I have to take my time to obtain documents from insurance company, call Physician's Billing and drive 34-miles (R/T) to Doctor Dupre's office to get this straightened out today! I am 75-years old; have 2-Insurance Providers; & have never experienced such as this! I agree with some of the other comments: Problem is not with Dr. Dupre but with… office staff which appears there is NO GUIDANCE OR OVERSIGHT of the front office/billing staff.

Dr DuPre saved my life. I was sent to the hospital in organ failure-Renal,Liver, and respiratory. Dr DuPre was one of the Doctors that worked on me in the ER and ICU , I was on the vent for 6 days and this Doctor brought my organs back to life. Not only this but he talked to my family and especially spent time with my young daughter to explain everything so she could understand. This is a very educated, caring physician and I highly recommend him. He is currently taking care of my husband and if is satisfied anyone would be.

Initially, I found Dr. DuPre to be thorough, caring and very interested in leaving no stone unturned to get to the root of my shortness of breath. His initial assessment took about an hour. He was engaging and seemed very interested in my problem. He then scheduled a breathing test and then he had me take home a sleep study. After that, I was not told of the outcome, except that I would be getting a call from some sleep study group for an appointment( I wasn't told for what). After a week I called Dr. DuPre's office to tell them I had not received a call yet. She told me to "be patient, they,ll call you". I waited another three weeks, still no call. Called Dr. DuPre's office again. I could tell that they had never called to have me scheduled, said something to the effect that Dr. DuPre had not reviewed his notes on me yet. Miraculously I received a call the next day. That's how I found out that I had Sleep Apnea. The next appointment I had to ask about his diagnosis regarding… COPD. "Oh yes, you have COPD." He sent me home with a sample handihaler. Next appointment he never asked me if it had helped. I called his office three times trying to find out about the inhaler. No one ever returned my calls. Had to go to the office to inquire. I agree with other reviews that he always ran late and fails to follow up after diagnosis. His biggest problem, by far, is his office staff: uncaring, somewhat surly and definitely in need of guidance. There is no follow-through and little attention to detail. I canceled future appointments.

Dr. DuPre is caring for my wife who has been on a ventilator for eight weeks now. He is the most attentive, caring, compassionate, doctor. While all of her Doctors are "top of the mark". Dr. DuPre really knows the respiratory system better than anyone. The first doctor on my wife's case asked her nurse why she was in the ICU unit and wanted her moved to the floor. A close family friend and health care professional recommended that I get rid of that doctor and get Dr. DuPre. The best choice I could have made.

I found Dr. Dupre to be a great lisener. My wait time in his office was over 45 minutes, but it didnt seem to care once i was in the room with him. he sent more time with me than any other doctor has.

Doctor is excellent. Problem is front staff and their lack of professionalism and caring for patients.
