Dr. John Ullman Dustin, MD

Doesn't seem interested in hearing my side of my condition.

Dr. John Dustin is an excellent doctor. Not arrogant like most doctors. He also listens to you.

Staff could be more helpful. Probably should hand off certain problems to a specialist.

I came to Dr Dustin as a new resident to Bloomington needing to get established with a Dr. I was seated in his office and when he walked in he took one look at me and immediately started talking about Bariatric surgery. Yes I am very over weight, but I thought that was supposed to be a last option, this man did not know me, doesn't know what I have or have not done to lose weight. I had several concerns to speak to him about regarding the arthritis in my back, a problem with my foot etc, but all he wanted to do was remind me I am fat. I have a mirror, I am aware of my size but not everything wrong with a fat person is about being fat, sometimes you just have a medical issue. I felt like he couldn't see me, all he saw was fat. I feel like I can't go back to him if I don't get the surgery.

I called IMA to get an appt. with a GI Dr. over my pre diagnosed chronic illness which was flared & giving me pain. They set me up w/Dr. Dustin 1st, why, I do not know. I carried my records with me & explained my problems & all he wanted to talk about was how I needed to quit smoking & how I needed to stay out of the tanning bed. I was in pain & miserable & this is not what I wanted to discuss! He sent me away with a few lortabs & an appt. with a GI Dr. scheduled a month later. I called back to have the lortabs refilled to get through til my appt. & got no response from his office. 3 trips to the ER later & a month til the appt. I originally needed, at least I know where to go if I want a lecture on smoking & tanning. I would not recommend him, especially if your condition is serious!
