Dr. John Lyman Eckenrode, MD

My wife and myself are both patients of Dr eckenrode, he has treated my wife for over 10 years and me for the last 6 months and I absolutely have love and respect for this doctor.

I've been seeing Dr. Eckenrode for 4 years & he enjoys seeing me because my condition is a challenge to him & his colleagues. He takes the time to explain the conditions I have fully, making sure that he covers them all. He jokes around to put me at ease. Great doctor.

Gives tons of analogies verses ever giving a clear answer. Does not prepare you at all for the disease, progression, outcome, etc. He lacks any sense of urgency and it will be left in your own hands to address. For those that have never found themselves in a situation like this be for it can be overly frustrating. It felt as though he did not care one bit about the patient but cared more about the chance to tell a story. When a person is extremely sick and tired that is the last thing they want to listen to. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Eckenrode does not listen to his patients, especially if they come into his office with a pre-existing condition. He is not available and seems to lack the passion needed to diagnose and treat his patients. Doctors are supposed to be supportive, available, and passionate. He certainly is not and my mother has suffered because of it!!!

When you hear the word cancer your world suddenly stops. Whether it is yourself or a family member you realize your life will never be the same. If you want a Dr who will see you through the good times and bad, a Dr to tell you the truth of EXACTLY what you are facing, and a Dr who will do everything he possibly can this is the Dr for you. Dr. Eckenrode will make you feel as though you truly are important, you are NOT another chart and NEVER a loss cause. By far who you want leading your treatment. You will not be disappointed and you will feel very well taken care of.

After hearing the words "You have Cancer", the thought of "what next" is on the fore front of you mind. Who do you go to? Who can you trust with your care? What are my treatment options? And most of all, Will I survive? If you are looking for a Doctor who will answer all these questions and through the gamete of treatment options at you, you want to go see Dr. Eckenrode. He takes his time, listens to ALL the questions you and your family may have, and honestly doesn't quit until you are 100% satisfied. When you have cancer, there is much comfort about it; until you met Dr. Eckenrode. You know that you are a priority and that he genuinely cares and sees you as a whole, not just a case. I recommend this Dr. to everyone I meet who just heard the news "you have cancer". Dr. Eckenrode is the Doctor who starts his care after those words have been said as most Doctors end their care after those words.
