The medical staff are very unpleasant, especially Alex. She does not greet patients with a warm welcome or friendly hello. Her disposition is abrupt, arrogant and angry. Never a smile, just a mean look. Other staff members treat patients like they are an inconvenience. All the bad reviews are true. I have also had those same experiences. Concerns are met with anger instead of making improvements. I am in the process of finding a Primary who cares about patients instead of making excuses for bad behavior.

I had to leave De Ellena because he refused to see me as a patient and i was always seeing his physican assistant. Once I sent an xray cd of my neck, that sat on his desk for 3 months. His PA is a joke, i have never experienced such lack of ethical and professional work issues in my entire life. I would never recommend Dr Ellena!

Dr. John Ellena is a breath of fresh air. He's been my primary care provider for over 20 years since I moved back to St. Louis. Dr. Ellena has never rushed an appointment, he makes you feel comfortable in sharing information and ensures you understand what he's saying. I appreciate that his appointments are timely. There has never been an extended wait to be seen. Dr. Ellena is an outstanding physician, and I would highly recommend him and his office staff.

dr ellena gave me the impression that he did not have enough time to spend with me. his misdiagnosis caused me a lot of stress, time and expense. never again!

Long time patient who is leaving this practice due to chaos in office (prescriptions not filled, no call backs, mis-communications), inability to diagnose or deal with complicated health issues, a THREE month wait to see him so I wound up always agreeing to see a nurse who was NOT qualified to handle my issues. I urge people to read the reviews in 2011 and 2012. They are spot on.

Dr. Ellena has been my doctor for over 20 years and I wouldn't go to any other doctor. He has always been very personable and caring. He always spends extra time if needed. I have never felt rushed like a lot of doctors do. I would always highly recommend him to everyone. He is the best doctor anyone could have.

Worse procedure for making appts. I have ever encountered. You sometimes have to call 5 or 6 times and wait 5 to 15 minutes on hold and sometimes even more before getting your call answered.
