Dr. John Lee Elzie, MD

Extremely unprofessional and rude staff. Please find another Pediatrician and save yourselves the humiliation. His staff needs to know that they deal with children and mothers.

He is a good listener. Follows up . Takes time. Asks lots of questions. Give useful info . Best doctor i have never seen !

When I first went to Professional Park Pediatrics I did not think much of their office staff or manner with my son. However, after an accident one morning before office hours I arrived at 9am and was taken straight to see a nurse, without an appointment. My son was seen by a nurse and a doctor and sent home with a smile after being given the all clear! I can't stress how much it means to any parent to get caring staff when it really matters the most.

He was AMAZING with both of my kids. I have a four year old son that is on the autism spectrum and is some times very challenging to get through to, but Dr. Elzie got through to him and got on his level and was very patient and understanding. He drew a smiley face on a tongue depresser for him and my son looks for that everytime we go. Both of my children were happy and comfortable with Dr. Elzie. He was efficient and the kindess doctor I have ever had for my kids. He spent a sufficient enough time with us and explained everything to me in laymens terms. I would recommend this doctor to anyone!

I have been taking my children to Dr. Elzie since they were born. They are now 4.5 and 1 years old. We LOVE Dr. Elzie! He is caring and kind, a very good listener and very observant. He is incredibly patient and gentle, too. He always remembers us and treats us as individuals, not cogs in a machine as some doctors do. I can't imagine any child not liking him, as a matter of fact! He is very knowledgeable, up with the latest opinions/research on every given topic, and happy to answer all questions. Really, please, do yourself a favor and switch your kids to him. He is wonderful!The setup is pretty good. There's plenty of parking, good location behind Cap Regional Med Center, and a well-child waiting room in addition to the regular waiting room for sick kids, which I like a lot. It's a bit of a rabbit's warren inside, with lots of narrow corridors to navigate, which is NOT fun with kids, crying babies, car seats, diaper bags, etc.The nurses are usually very nice, although there are a… couple who are a bit cool for me. The ones who actually give kids shots, however, have been fabulous each and every time. I love them!When I first came here with my older child I had a few visits with horrendously long wait times - one time 2 hours of waiting with a newborn baby! I have known at least one friend who walked out of there in disgust. However, the last couple of years I have never had to wait more than about 20-30 minutes. Not great, but not terrible.The other big down side (surprise, surprise): the office staff. They aren't very welcoming and they are pretty cold, so it's never very pleasant arriving, leaving or calling to get help. I hate it and I know lots of friends who hate it too, but nothing seems to change. Oh well.

My wife and I have taken our son and daughter (now 9 and 7) to Dr. Elzie since they were infants. We love his friendly and professional manner. He's always careful to be a good listener and make eye contact with both the children and the parents. His diagnoses have been spot-on every time. We'd very much recommend Dr. Elzie for your pediatric needs.
