Dr. John Fasbinder

Dr. Fasbinder is in private practice dentistry with an emphasis on in-office pediatric dentistry w/anesthesia, oral surgery including third molar impactions w/anesthesia, dental phobic patients, special needs patients and geriatric patients. Dr. Fasbinder is a board certified dental anesthesiologist with over 27 years of experience and also includes family dental care for many patients!
He describes his passion of life as in helping others with kindness and compassion, aligned with the Biblical precept to "Treat others as I would want to be treated".

Doctor Fasbinder, 53, grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He has a daughter, Stacy, 32, with two grandchildren, Mia- 4 and Mitchell, 2. He also has two sons, Benjamin, 29 and Evan, 26.
Doctor Fasbinder is an Eagle Scout and continues to support the scouting program as a merit badge counselor.
Before he …completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Missouri- Kansas City in 1977, he was awarded a Victor Wilson Scholarship for scholastic achievement and inducted into the Psi Chi Scholastic Honor Fraternity. He also trained and served as a counselor for Human Rescue, Inc., a crisis intervention hotline.
Doctor Fasbinder completed a Doctorate in Dental Surgery at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1981. During his training, he completed an externship in Oral Surgery at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Doctor Fasbinder began private practice in 1981 and served as an Adjunct Professor in the General Practice Residency at Truman Medical Center.
Doctor Fasbinder completed his Anesthesia Training at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. He earned his Fellowship in Anesthesiology from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and his Diplomat Certification through the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
Doctor Fasbinder received an Affiliate Faculty Appointment with the American Heart Association and is a certified instructor for both Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.).
Doctor Fasbinder served as an attending physician and lecturer for several family practice residency programs, and at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry.
Doctor Fasbinder preformed clinical research in the early use of pulse oximetry for out-patient procedures. He is currently researching the use of Bispectral encephalographic monitoring for surgical/anesthetic procedures.
Doctor Fasbinder has served on various committees for the Kansas Dental Board, Kansas Medicaid Board and the Executive Committee for the Fifth District, Kansas Dental Association. He continues to serve in an advisory capacity for the Kansas Dental Board as well as the Kansas Department of Social Services.
His previous Medical-Dental staff appointments include Truman Medical Center, Trinity Lutheran Hospital, Baptist Lutheran Hospital and Doctor's Hospital of Overland Park, Kansas. In addition he held a medical-dental staff appointment at Saint Joseph Medical Center, serving on various committees such as peer review, medial ethics and the executive council, as well as Chairman of the Department of Dentistry/Oral Surgery. Doctor Fasbinder also served on the Cranio-facial Reconstruction Team at Saint Luke's Hospital.
Doctor Fasbinder's professional memberships include: American Dental Assoc., Kansas Dental Assoc., Fifth District Dental Society, K.D.A. and The American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Doctor Fasbinder has donated time/services to patients from Safe home for battered and abused women, Catholic Charities, Jewish Family and Children's services, Kansas Mission of Mercy, the Danforth Foundation and Donated Dental Services. He also organized a community dental health care initiative for the Russian Resettlement Project through the Jewish Heritage Foundation.
