Dr. John Hans Felber, MD

I saw Dr. John Felber on the recommendation of Drs. Grody, Schwartz, and Satlof. These doctors were an OB/GYN group in Hartford, Connecticut. I asked them for the name of a psychiatrist as I was having some disturbing symptoms that I much later learned were the result of bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis. I saw Dr. Felber at his office located at 61 South Main St. in West Hartford, Connecticut.All of our encounters were at his office. Dr. Felber never diagnosed me with postpartum psychosis or with bipolar disorder. He never told me what his diagnosis of me was or tried to educate me about it. Instead, he medicated me with a heavy dose of the medication elavil, which did nothing to contribute to the alleviation of my symptoms; in fact, I think that medication actually made my mood and behaviors worse. While under his treatment, I developed a “crush “ on him. I made this fact known to him. Instead of explaining my feelings of affection for him to me, he very strongly… encouraged those feelings. As a horrible result of his actions and encouragement, he had sexual encounters with me in his office on several occasions. The result of that was a long delay in my treatment, several years of guilt feelings, cutting behaviors, and many hospitalizations. I moved away from Connecticut nearly 20 years ago, and knowing that I had mental issues, sought out a psychiatrist in my new location. She diagnosed me with bipolar disorder and educated me about the illness and prescribed the appropriate medications. My advice is to stay far away from Dr. John Felber. He is evil.
