Dr. John F Finkenstadt, MD

I aw him for prolotherapy on my neck over the last year. Not sure why but he yanks on your arm before or after the treatments. I told him twice before not to suddenly yank on my arms due to prior surgeries. He does this without warning- he does not say- can I lift your arm. He grabbed my arm so suddenly and hard yesterday, I ended up in urgent orthnow care today for a torn pec and subscap muscle. Go here at your own peril. The ortho docs say he is strange too. The office staff are curt until you pay in cash walking out, then they muster a half smile.

I highly recommend him. My daughter saw him for a foot problem that no other doctor or sports medicine specialist could help. The response was she will grow out of it eventually. Not a great answer for a runner. His treatments helped, thankfully.

I really lil this doctor, he is kind and considerate and his procedures are organized almost painless.

The receptionist in main office not very professional . She is on her cell phone while you are waiting. She speaks very rudely to people. Bringing down the whole office atmosphere.. I cancelled my appointment because my son had an emergency day of appointment. The receptionist asked me why and said she would call me back after she spoke with doctor. Never called me back. She is on her cell phone with her kids all the times I have been there!

Absolutely was impressed by the doctors in the office, they took their time going over my symptoms from an injury I had incurred. My left side from mid back down through my left leg was debilitated. My MRI was inconclusive (done without dye), but I was severely symptomatic of ruptured discs. Dr. Finkenstadtn treated me for a ruptured disc, and even stated that many times it will not show up on an MRI, without the use of contrast. I had injections done, and I have a large fear of needles, and could not relax at all when they try ed doing them without sedation, they immediately stopped when I was to tense, and sedated me. All the while talking to me and taking their time. The nurses were great, very friendly and caring. Everyone in the office was amazing. Dr Finkenst adt was meticulous about taking notes, assessing pain levels and managing the pain, all while creating a therapy program just for myself. Each vise with the doctor was at least 45 minutes long, which is unusual for… doctors these days. This office is exceptional

I have had a 30 year history of serious back problems. Had spinal fusion with hardware. Been through all the shots. Sadly I needed pain meds. Another story of a sick person being treated like a junkie. Wanted a urine sample be for he even talked with me. I left. Rather be in pain than humiliated. Says much about our state as a society as it does about DOCTORS. Its not good if you have chronic pain. Insurance won't cover natural options. Medical community treats you like crap.

The wait time is marginal to good, the staff appears to be caring and professinal. The ease of scheduling an appointment is marginal to good. Now for the Doc... Dr. Finkenstadt was referred to me by my primary care physician Dr. William Schreiber, for whom I have nothing but good things to say. As far as John Finkenstadt is concerned, so far I am pleased. I have a chronic thoracic spine condition that has yet to be diagnosed. The doctor has performed multiple injections on me (yes the Doctor performs the procedures himself quite often) and I have yet to feel relief. Most would say this is a negative. Although it is frustrating, and I am becoming less and less hopeful, I cannot blame the Dr. He is more than willing to listen, and try to provide the best way to manage my pain until a solution is found. I honestly feel that Dr. Finkenstadt cares, and wants to help. The amount of time he spends consulting with me each visit, and the thoroughness of each… explanation/consultation has nothing left to be desired. I am frustrated that I am not yet "cured", however my frustration lies in the condition not in the Dr. making a concerted effort to help. He has welcomed me to get a 2nd opinion (which most Doctors take as a hit to their ego), he is willing to provide the proper medication to manage the pain until a solution is found, and I believe he takes each case as a problem solving situation in which he is quite passionate about. I feel that this Doctor is doing everything in his power to solve my issue, including performing multiple procedures himself. He does these injections/procedures in the order of least invasive (less side effects and dangers) and progresses carefully trying to find the best method of relief as he works through the options. I recommend Dr. Finkenstadt to anyone who has a certain level of patience, and the willingness to try all options before giving up and resorting to surgery, or long term narcotic medications. Thus far I am pleased, and hopeful that the Doctor will find a solution. I hope this helps someone who experiences the type of misery that I do wiht back pain.....

This office is very professional. The doctor is knowledgable about pain options and willing to spend as much time as necessary with his patients. The staff is personable and efficient.

I have been seeing Dr Finkenstadt for a number of years now; he's been treating me for long-term chronic pain. In all that time I've never waited for more than 15 minutes at an appointment, he's always taken the time to answer all of my questions and explain when I asked, has pinpointed problem spots accurately and suggested effective treatments, and his staff has always been courteous and helpful and worked with me on any questions I had about scheduling, prescriptions or whatever. While he may appear to lack "bedside charm" or even appear "stern", he is really a warm and funny person with a remarkable memory for details and an innate sense of how to approach new problems AND how to explain things to me, unlike many doctors I've seen over the years. He has also done several procedures on me and I'm confident in his accuracy and skills overall - I have nothing but good things to say about him, and his staff is also topnotch IMO... I have never had a reason to complain about any aspect… of my care.My experience may be somewhat atypical as I am a proactive patient; I read about my issues, then bring questions and discuss my care with my doctors, but I think all patients should be proactive - if you don't ask questions doctors assume you don't need answers. Dr Finkenstadt is no exception, but he has never ignored my questions, no matter how trivial. I recommend him highly and without hesitation.

Without the help and understanding of this man and his staff... I would have very little quality of life. I have always been treated with respect and dignity and I am now able to work full time and enjoy my life again after a very serious back injury. I have had two back surgeries, a lami/discectomy and finally a fusion of L4, L5, and S1. I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS MAN!!
