Dr. John Thomas Fleagle, MD

Life was turned upside down when my husband became so sick. Dr Fleagle came along side of us & explained every treatment, every condition risk at a level we could understand. And when no medical option was going to help & that ultimately my husbands life would end. Dr Fleagle was gentle, kind & so supportive in helping keep his pain under control as well as assisting me & our children with care & support. Dr Fleagle went above & beyond! He is super knowledgeable in oncology & hematology.. BUT also has bedside manners of a true & sincere caring individual.

I cannot imagine anyone better that could helped me through my cancer period. He was kind, explained everything clearly so I would understand what was happening to me and the treatments, chemo/radiation, that I would be going through. The personnel at the facility were the best that could be. One time I went in to receive the chemo treatment and I was to sick and they rushed me to the hospital. Without their knowledge who knows what could have happened to me. Thanks to everyone at the facility for saving my life.

I did a through review of oncologist in the area before selecting Dr. Fleagle. He has excellent post-doctoral education, keeps his education up-to-date. Explains treatment and its effects in great detail and also makes sure the patient understands what is being explained and then asks the patient if further explanation is needed--really very rare in most physicians. I have had breast cancer for 25 years, am now terminal but still receiving as much attention, treatment and care as if I was going to live for another 25 years. Be aware that many physicians can be superficial with their concern and treatment when a patient presents as terminal and focus more on patients that they feel will respond positively to "their treatment" plan. I am a patient of MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX and chose Fleagle not only because of his professional expertise but because he works closely with my physician who is Head of the Breast Cancer Center at MD Anderson and consults with him when… needed; an attribute that is not common with most oncologist. After working for 10 years in tumor biology research I can assure you that for cancer care in the local community, Dr. Fleagle can be trusted. Also the facility, The Tebow Center, is excellent both in staffing and medical procedures. I hope this helps in making a choice during what can be a stressful experience.
