Do your research, there are many highly trained specialists around Michigan. UNfortunately Dr. FLood is not among the best. You deserve better for yourself.

Office staff does not return calls very well

I tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Flood to have a second opinion on my post arthroscopic knee surgery. I was told he will not see me unless I have a referral. Not sure who can refer me? The doctor I'm asking him to look at his work? That's awkward. I was told I must provide a referring physician (which I could not, since my physician thinks my knee is great) and a full copy of my medical records before he would tell me if he was able to see me. Cherry picking patients now? Do not recommend. Rude receptionist. Doctor is clearly looking for cases that make him money, not looking to help YOU.

Dr. Flood has serviced my son, husband, and myself over the last 11 years. We have all been very pleased with our results recommending him to friends and students. Not only is he a terrific surgeon but he is a caring teacher. Since I'm now going to have back surgery that entails spinal fusion I really appreciate learning about what's wrong and what needs to be done. He has taken the time to go over my diagnosis thoroughly and showed my husband and I exactly what's going on and what the surgery will do to correct the problem. He answered all our questions and spent a lot of time with us. We felt very positive when we were done. His assistant, Linda is wonderful. I had some additional questions about after surgery, not thought of during our consult and she answered them over the phone. They are a great team to have on your side. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

Seen quickly. Problem completely explained. Options discussed in detail. Very happy with visit. Will refer family and friends.

Dr Flood and his staff have been great at every turn. Dr. Flood was the only doctor who mentioned an artificial disc during my first visits with him which made me feel very comfortable and that he was looking out for my future when other doctors only wanted to fuse. Most of all Dr Flood was willing to listen and answered all my questions and understood my concerns. Being 47 I wanted every possible chance at keeping almost all mobility in my neck. I elected to have an artificial disc implanted at C5-6 and a fusion at C6-7. The recover pain is nothing compared to the pre surgery pain. I want to thank his office manager Michelle for all her help in dealing with my short term disability insurance company; she went above and beyond what most people would have done to assist a patient. A BIG THANK YOU to his nurse Linda for making me feel at eases the day of my surgery and for offering to pray with me and my family before I was taken to the OR. Will be back to see Dr. Flood when I… can't take the pain in my lower back and leg anymore.

Can only say positive things regarding Dr. Flood. I had cervical disc replacement and a fusion and I am so happy with the results. Prior to surgery I looked at several different surgeons and I am very pleased that I choose his practice.

It took a very long time for needed paperwork(report) to reach my insurance company.
