Dr. John Friel, MD

Dr Friel removed a 5cm mass positive for cancer by laparoscopic surgery. I was up + walking the night of surgery. After 2 nights in hospital, I am home recovering. Dr Friel is excellent, competent with a wonderful communication skills. I recommend him highly.

severed my ureter during surgery to remove my cancerous tumor . sewed me up and sent me on my way.despite at my follow up showing him my urine soaked clothing. 19 months riddled with infections, sepsis and managing a nephrostomy tube. like the other patient said.you are literally putting your life on the line.

Dr. Friel and his staff are excellent. Very caring people who take the time to listen. Also, extremely efficient in their duties. Highly recommend.

I had been diagnosed with Diverticulitis the required surgery ( a resection of the colon) Dr. Friel was prompt with the diagnosis he explained in great detail what was involved with the procedure and the risks. The day of the surgery Dr. Friel explained what was going to happen in the operating room and recovery. I woke up in recovery and was quickly transferred to a room where Dr. Friel remained available to follow up. My recovery was fairly quick within 4 days of surgery I was walking 5 miles and without any pain medication, I contribute such success due to the minimally invasive Laparoscopic procedure, but more so to Dr. Friel's expertise and steady hands. The level of care throughout the process was far greater that I could have expected. I would not hesitate to have any procedure with Dr. Friel I assure you that you are in great hands.

Dr Friel saved my life. It was his "spot-on" diagnosis of C-Diff with sepsis that precipitated my rapid admission and immediate surgery. His after-care was absolutely the best. He spent much time with me at each visit, both hospital and office. Answered all my questions without the medical mumbo-jumbo. I highly recommend Dr. Friel (Iand his partner Dr. Flannery). There is no other surgeon I would give 5 stars to. When you have 12 hours to live, I would see Drs. Friel and/or Flannery!
