Dr. John Frino, MD

Excellent doctor. Great bed side manners. Took time to explain everything and was in no rush to leave the room.

Dr. Frino is a 10! My son had spinal fusion from T2-L3. Dr. Frino is not only one of the finest surgeons and doctors we have met, but he is also a genuine and caring individual who really cares for your kid!

Dr. Frino and Staff are Wonderful! My Daughter is 14 and had scoliosis. Dr. Frino was great with her. They put 2 Rods in her back and everything has been great. Her surgery was last February, and she was back in full swing playing volleyball by June! I highly recommend their office! They take the time with their patients and really care!

Dr. Frino has been caring for my daughter for two years. She has had two surgeries and her case has never been straight forward. From the beginning he has made sure she knew he cared about her life and interests. He has encouraged her to speak up and give her opinion. As a parent I am grateful that he listens and spends time with her and me when needed. His staff has always been there to help. Calling and emailing me after hours and on weekends if need be. My daughter has never wanted for anything if he could provide it and it was within his scope of practice to do so. His warm smile and friendly, calm, confident tone make any parent feel better that their child is in his hands.

After reading that Dr Frino had received an award for being a compassionate physician, I simply had to comment. Several years ago I took my daughter to see Dr. Frino at the recommendation of our local doctor. We drove over an hour to see him for my daughter's condition. Right away, he seemed irritated that I had researched my daughter's condition and doubly irritated that I had so many questions. All the expert information we could find indicated that her problem was best solved with one comprehensive surgery rather than two surgeries (as he recommended). When we mentioned this, Dr. Frino seemed taken aback and, again, annoyed at a patient (e.g. CUSTOMER) having an intelligent opinion. When his nurse was able to get us on his schedule within the month, he was shocked. Note that this was surgery for a 10 year old, a very intelligent and mature girl for her age. Fast forward to her surgery being rescheduled twice - the second time, it was cancelled literally as we were driving to… the hospital with the rental wheelchair in our car. As any mother will understand, my daughter was devastated. She had worked up the courage and wherewithal to face surgery TWICE and it had been changed at the last minute both times. I sent a message to Dr. Frino literally begging him to make her next surgical date a priority given the circumstances. His response? To tell me that he felt my daughter was not "mentally or emotionally strong enough to handle the surgery and recovery". My daughter did eventually have the surgery and handled it with grace and strength...what she had difficulty handling was a doctor with a God complex who is offended by intelligent patients and their parents and who acts on his annoyance by yanking the rug out from under a CHILD and then insulting and essentially refusing to treat that child!I did not speak out at the time of this event because I decided that my emotions in that moment were so raw that I would not be able to be fair in my review. After seeing that this man received an award for being a COMPASSIONATE DOCTOR, I simply could not remain quiet any longer.

My son had to have surgery on his foot Dr. Frino was the best from start to finish he is excellent at his job and would highly reccomend him to anyone. Even my sons therapist said the procedure he preformed was outstanding his work spoke wonders that made me a happy mom:)

He is a good surgeon how ever his staff needs to be replaced. My daughter had a back transfusion and after surgery I continually asked about physically therapy. After our third appointment and them telling me she did not need it that handed me a physical referrel form. Also was promised to get home health care help being I am a single parent with cancer. The home health care aide never came through despite 15 phone calls with there social worker. Now I am dealing with my daughter getting thrown into a locker and called to ask them for a letter to help me and they refuse. All i asked for them to state was this incident could have caused long term damage and severly hurt her. They offered a letter that said she had surgery. Wow, thanks that really helps my daughter. Although he did a good surgery they are all messed up and will not help you with anything. BEWARE.

Dr. Frino is truly in a class of his own. He stands out as the most caring and competent doctor I have ever seen. He asks the right questions, consults with his team, and provides all of the information you need to make decisions. He made a difficult situation much less so by being thorough, responsive, compassionate and excellent at his work. I can't imagine being treated by anyone else.

Dr. Frino was senstive to my daughter's needs before and after surgery.

Dr. Frino is a fantastic doctor/surgeon. He took the time with me to discuss my options for my hip dysplasia, answered questions, gave candid information regarding my options, and is responsive to emails within a day (sometimes within 30 minutes) pre and post surgery. AFter my surgery during my 4 days in the hospital, he visited me each day to ensure I was on the right road to recovery with sincerity and care. I would recommend him to anyone. I am one of his few adult patients, but as a parent, I would go to him if any of my children (God forbid) had an orthopaedic problem. Thank you Dr. Frino! You are truly world class!
