Dr. John Timothy Garner, MD

Dr. Garner did not treat my dying father with the medication he needed. He stayed at nursing home all day and he said he was dehydrated without even seeing him. I saw my father and knew something was very wrong so I asked for an emergency hospice visit. As soon as the hospice nurse got there she looked appalled at my father's condition and said he needed help immediately. He was transported to hospice and passed away an hour after he got there. I hope no one else has to go through this and I wish I had demanded they call hospice earlier in the day than have my dad lay like that all day in that condition. That was unacceptable and I feel others should know about this.

Unfortunately my mother is in a nursing home so we are not able to choose her primary doctor. Dr. Garner is part of the group that works her home. My mother is currently in the hospital. We asked the nurse to call him about a consult with another doctor my mom had seen in the past relating to some of the symptoms she has. He told us he would not do it. As this was unacceptable we asked the nurse to call again. His assistant told her the same again so we told them we wanted to meet with him and it was decided we'd meet the next morning between 8-10am. Avoiding us again he did his rounds at 6am. He will not meet or talk. So a PA from the same group, Holly, listened to us. She looked up the doctor we wanted the consult with in mom's chart and saw a note that stated if she had any of the symptoms again to contact him. Another doctor in this group saw my mom a many years ago and we immediately switched to another doctor. I would stay away from this practice. They don't really listen, they… talk down, think they know more than you (about someone you've been with for 50+ years), and avoid the family if possible.

My husband has been a patient for >-15 years. the last time he went to see. all was good until then. the pharmacy filled Xanax same maker, same color after 2-3 weeks of feeling NOT right we looked up his med on pill identifier, well low and behold was XANAX NOT OXY IR 30mg. he was not asking for a new pain med prescript. He has been told by Dr Garner he will not live very long. The whole problem is a not trained nurse who she thinks no matter what garner says is wrong. She HAS ABSOUTLELY NO business working in the medical field period!!! My husband tested negative before living the house except for benzoz but Karen said he tested for morphine and who knows what else! She has absolutlely NO morals and she by lying about the numerous positives on the screen she is committing a drastic crime. Thanks to her "criminal stunt" today my husband will be taken drasticallly soon from his 15 year old son and myself!!!!! If something is NOT done about their office in Ashland and the Rite Aid… Pharmacy on Blackburn this will end up harming more and more people!!!!

He takes the time to actually listen to what I have to say! He will discuss options instead of saying it's just his way or the highway! He has a great bedside manner and during hospital stays has been prompt and on top of everything, including what the consulting doctors are doing!

He is an amazing doctor who actually cares about his patients and isn't just there for the paycheck

When I moved here, I brought my daughter's entire medical record from birth. When I requested my daughter's medical record back because of her need to go to a different doctor, they gave me a disheveled record with much of it missing and copies of 5 other patients medical records. I am in need of the missing records to take my daughter to a specialist and am now trying to locate the records 800 miles from where I live. Who knows whose records they have placed them in. I don't understand why the record was taken apart to begin with. Also, I have had lab work results for myself come up missing and have had to have the blood work redone because of the incompetancies of his staff.

i have been with dr garner almost a year now. he is courteous and kind and genuinely cares about his patients. he is really a good dr. and he sure has come through for me. he knows his stuff, and he is thorough. i find him too be very jovial and friendly, and i like that, in a dr. i would not go too any one else.
