Dr. John Gerald Gelinas, MD

I've been a patient for many yeas and have had numerous issues with the staff regarding appointments and most recently prescription refills. I called to get my last refill before my appointment and the staff refused to fill it. Said I needed to move my appointment up before it could be filled. I double checked with my pharmacy and I had only filled 2 of the 3 refills so far. They denied me my mediation and I was put on speaker phone in the office while trying to explain to the receptionist that I had another refill left and I was not going to move my appointment. She was very unprofessional, I heard her talking in the background while I was explaining. Told me se would leave a message with the doctor and I asked if he could call me back same day, she said no, he has appointments. Extremely unprofessional. I am now out of medication due to their lack of competence. I will be looking for a new office immediately.

Dr. Gelinas has been, and continues to be, instrumental in the treatment of my child’s severe ADHD/ODD. As a psychiatrist, he is superior in that he always sees my son as a person before he addresses his condition. Dr. Gelinas has never discredited a behavioral concern or medication side effect, and has worked diligently to tailor my child’s treatment so that he can shine without being “over-medicated”. My child has blossomed with the support of his school, therapists, my own parent training (key to success for any family dealing with an ADHD/ASD diagnosis!!) and Dr. Gelinas’ professional care. I am so grateful to have him as a part of our team.

Awful. When my daughter first started, we loved his relaxed manner and seemingly good listening skills. It turned bad when he discounted concerns I had over changes in my daughter's behavior. Turns out after a trip to the hospital and a consult with a pharmacology expert, my daughter was being severely overdosed. I realize that medication can be a crapshoot and several might need to be tried before you find one that works, but his total disregard for my concerns (which turned out to be true) was frightening and very damaging.

Dr. Gelinas certainly likes to prescribe and up dosage without listening to the patient. Ignored repeated concerns on dosage. Find someone who listens.

Dr Gelinas is a pompous, unprofessional so called clinician. He has terrible listening skills and he is very threatened by anyone, particularly women, questioning him. His office staff are horrible and rude and unresponsive. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for your care.

Do not let your daughters be alone with this man. If they have been, talk to them - now. #metoo

Been seeing him for years and can't think of anyone I would see besides him!!

This doctor needs a serious reality check. First of all I spend 120 dollars of my own money that insurance will not cover since this doctor is out of network only to listen to him gloat about how he saved some old lady's life. He stood up and went on and on about how he saved her life, as to insure himself of his credentials. Why on earth he's talking about another patient when he's supposed to be helping me is mind boggling and down right wrong. Not only did he waste my time but when asked to speak to other doctors that I've seen, to try and come up with a treatment plan he lied to my face. He would tell me one thing and then when he spoke to my other doctors he would say the complete opposite. He's two-faced, does not like to be challenged, and could not come up with a diagnosis to help me. If he's supposed to be the doctor, then why on earth could he not come up with a diagnosis? My advice- save your 120 bucks and avoid this quack pot at all costs.

Would like to post a warning to all parents before bringing their daughters to see this man. Highly inappropriate, creep. Please do not bring them to see him.

Dr Gelinas listens and cares. He is a master psychopharmacist who is empathetic. I couldn't ask for a more inspired psychiatrist. Smart and caring. One of the good ones.
