Dr. John Patrick A George, MD

Dr. John P. George was the first doctor in my life to take my pain seriously and to proceed with the exploratory laparoscopy that I needed to formally diagnose what I long knew was endometriosis. That formal diagnosis was so crucial in me being able to obtain the support and medical treatment I needed to function on a daily basis. Dr. George is both a caring and compassionate provider who really believes in treating his patients with dignity and respect. It was the first time I felt as though I was autonomous and had a crucial stake in my own health decisions. Before my surgeries, Dr. George always thoroughly explained what would happen and what aftercare would look like. After my surgery, he would always schedule time during our follow-up appointments to educate me about my treatment options, any videos or pictures from my surgery so I knew what was happening to me, and point me towards resources outside of his medical treatment plan for me so I could know what else I could be doing… to keep my inflammation at bay. Still to this day, I consider driving the hundreds of miles to go see him for my medical care, as it has been very difficult to find a good provider as an endometriosis patient and especially as a woman of color. I believe if more doctors invested in hearing their patients and building strong patient-provider relationships, like Dr. George, we would have less emergency and urgent care visits, less preventable deaths, and less suffering, especially among Black and brown women. I have been seeing Dr. John P. George III since I was in the 7th grade. I am now 53 years old and I continue to see Dr. George. Dr. George delivered my daughter 34 years ago and she is doing just fine. I have had 2-3 surgeries under the care of Dr. John P. George III. I'm not sure what I am going to do once he retires. His nurse Betty retired many years ago and I was heart broken. Nurse Betty was one of the sweetest persons you ever want to meet. As outstanding as Dr. George, I highly recommend him to YOU! Thanks!

An excellent physician whose first priority is the care of his patients. A wise and knowledgeable doctor who encourages questions and answers them honestly. He has treated three generations of women in my family and multiple friends - I highly recommend him because he is easy to talk to and is an expert in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
