Dr. John Michael Goldberg, MD

Decent doctor but hard to get an appt. Been going to him for a few years. Always booked. Made an appt 6 months ago, they called this week to say they have to reschedule. Can't get me in for another 3 months. That will make it 9 months since I saw him last!! Really LONG WAIT for a cardiologist.

All of the medical professionals at the hospital where my sister was in ICU for a month and a half, told us she would never get out of bed, eat by mouth, or be weaned off of the ventilator. Based on what we knew her wishes would be, we decided to turn off the ventilator based on the so-called 'knowledge' /prognosis we received. Dr. Goldberg called me at home that night to tell us he thought we should keep fighting,..that she still had a chance, and that he didn't feel right about the whole thing. We agreed and my sister would not be alive right now if not for his call. She is walking with assistance until her muscles are stronger,..she has been off of the ventilator for some time, and she has been eating. She is almost home. Scary to think of the kind of medical opinions you receive sometimes in the case of all of the medical professionals at the hospital in Mesa.

Wasn't very impressed

He treated my daughter who has a drug addiction. He made up his mind from the start that he did not nor would he treat her properly. He had his mind made up she was not a worth while enough human being. His bedside manner is arrogant, degrading and indifferent. If questioned on any of his decisions he gets angry and storms out and then trys to turn it around and make you look like the irrational person. He is not in this profession because he wants to make a difference to humanity. He is there to feed his own ego and arrogance. He asked me to fire him so I did and he has made it impossible to find another doctor to treat my daughter's spine infection.

We could echo the patient who first felt comfortable in his care but in subsiquent months and illness he was lacking. He seemed to be experiementing and then made light of the consequences of it-- which was the disease returned, causing us great difficulty and a step backward. No we will not be returning to his practice.

In my situation Dr. John M. Goldberg became the liaison and decision maker between my internal medicine doctor, my surgeon, and the hospital. He stood his ground and ultimately made the correct calls when all the other medical professional were making different arguments. His decisions assisted in avoiding amputation of a limb, loss of life due to Strep Grade A Necrotizing Fasciitis after a dog bite, and recovery while at home. He became personally involved in my recovery and took my recovery on as a commitment to his profession. Needless to say I would place my life in his hands anytime. I highly recommend him.

Didn't do much when I no longer had insurance.Not very caring or too good when I did have insurance. LO

He is thorough, compassionate and a wonderful doctor. He took all the time needed to research my infection, gave me great advice and want to do and not to do and was absolutely wonderful. In the 5 months that I dealt with Dr John Golberg I felt 150% confident that he would do what he said and made sure I never had any doubts about the methods he used to treat my infection.

Although Dr. Goldberg gave me a second chance at life, I feel abandoned by him when I once again became ill with the same set of symptoms. Although I went to many appointments trying to convince him that my illness had reoccurred, he continually brushed me off, telling me that I was "fine", when I clearly wasn't. In the end, I finally had to change my insurance plan in order to go to a practice that was responsive to my needs and have been given the same diagnosis, albeit in a much advanced state from my initial treatment by Dr. Goldberg. I can't even believed that this is the same Dr. I once practically worshipped for saving my life...

I was referred to Dr. Goldberg for a staph infection as he is supposedly an infectious disease specialist. Multiple antibiotic treatments did not help my problem.He basically prescribed a regimen that was the same as I had already done but adding one additional antibiotic. When this didn't work, he was done with trying to resolve my problem, and wanted to refer me to a dermatologist.He is not very competent and will not follow through. He has to use a frayed paperback that he carries around to look up different treatments, because I guess he doesn't know what to do.I recommend you stay far away from this guy if you need a good doctor. Goldberg does not even come close to being acceptable.
