Dr. John Robert Gordon, DDS

My son went in to have a scan done for Invisiline. After a few days the front desk reception informed us his treatment would require 31 trays. When we called to get the rest of the information on pricing etc the front desk receptionist named Melissa unilaterally and without consolidation with the doctor refused his treatment and refused to provide his scan information and records to be taken to another practitioner. That receptionist also called Dr Gordon’s sons office Dr Phillip Gordon of Leawood Kansas and told them to not take his case for no other reason than personal vindictiveness with total disregard to patient care or suitability for treatment.

I have had a very negative experience with doctor Gordon's office. From misrepresentation of costs to very bad techniques in fillings. Only half a day after getting 2 small fillings (for which I was charged 2x industry standards), I had a piece of the filling come out of one tooth and noticed a drill mark (yes a drill hole) on the second tooth. Flossing either tooth tears the floss....I asked for another dentist's second opinion and it seems that the teeth that John Gordon filled have been done with very poor technique. As insurance will not cover fixing the same teeth that where filled, the new dentist has offered to fix John Gordon's lack of expertise and down right bad dental technique for a fraction of the charge. Interestingly, the suggestion John Gordon had made that I need multiple other filings have been negated by the second dentist who said "these are perfectly good teeth and I do not know why your previous dentist wanted to fill them" "how was he even going to send… these to insurance?". Now, I am not an expert but I would not think a dentist turns away business so believe the second opinion better. I just hope that John Gordon's suggestion and work is not a mistake he makes often. PS: this is the first time I am writing any reviews but found this experience way too negative to look the other way. I wish he had just taken the money from me and not touched the teeth...at least I wouldn't be worse off two folds. I wish I could give zero stars on this review and thank goodness I did not go back!
