Dr. John Ivan Gotchall, MD

Dr. Gotchall is caring, knowledgeable, personable,and thorough. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Gotchall is my mothers pulmonary doctor and is treating her for COPD and lung cancer. I have been with her during all of her visits with him and have found he always shows respect and concern for her and her comfort in life. Her case is terminal, he has always been very informative with her and compassionate. Great doctor!!

One person left a not so good review But I wanted to write this and say this is so not the Dr Gotchall I know. I think he is very friendly and very caring not so caring that it gets in the way of him being neutral though. He has always been very friendly with me and we make jokes back and forth at times in like smoking is like a bad boyfriend etc just enough to put me at ease and be forthcoming with everything. He has never been anything but professional and he even went so far to call me on a Sunday afternoon to give me my biopsy results because he knew how worried I was. He understands I live far away and getting into see him is hard on me (sucks living in a small town I have to drive and hour and a half to get to the hospital) hence the phone calls. He def is not one of those dr's that wants the patients in and out in 10 minutes to make more money I had one dr. that saw patients and could only work on one issue per visit the more appt's for her the better. I feel like he spends… quite an amount of time with me and makes sure all my questions and concerns are addressed and I feel ok with everything. I don't like Doctors I don't like paying money to see them. I can happily say I don't feel like that with him for once I can say I like a Doctor. My only gripe is its hard to get into see him his availability is 3 weeks out but that does say something he's in high demand because he's good and he's caring. I would def refer him to others.

I've dealt with doctors all of my life due to being a polio survivor. When I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2011 I was referred to Dr. Gotchall. He's been my pulmonologist ever since and I couldn't be happier. I can't imagine going through this process with any other doctor. He's more thorough than any doctor I've been attended by. He's totally professional, which is exactly what I want in specialist. This guy shouldn't have any emotional attachment to me, he's possibly going to be making decisions that will effect how long I live. My primary care physician is the doctor that I give hugs to when I see him, have a more social relationship with, that shows he very much cares what happens to me. Dr. Gotchall is able to be as professional as he needs to be and still convey his concern for me as a person. Thank goodness I was sent to this doctor.

My most medically harrowing experience. I was so upset I went into a sezuire 1/2 hour later. He was condescending, inaccurate, and just a real jerk. Avoid this guy.

I was referred to Dr. Gotchall for lung cancer. I found him to be caring, professional and accurate with his diagnosis. Thanks to his quick response to my situation, I am now cancer free. Dr. Gotchall "walks on water" as far as I'm concerned!
