Dr. John C. Grady-Benson

Dr. Grady Benson was on time,thorough and explained my recovery from surgery very well including showing me xrays of my leg. He is one of the most competent and effective physicians I have ever met. His staff is equally helpful. I felt totally supported throughout this procedure and recovery.

On July 7th, 2025 I had a very successful partial left knee replacement performed by Dr. Grady-Benson. He's a compassionate surgeon who takes the time to explain the surgery and recovery process. I always felt my care was in the most competent of hands by a surgeon and team who are second to none. His expertise and attention to my care needs freed me of any worry about having surgery. I highly recommend him, and there is no other surgeon I would trust for either knee or hip replacement.

Dr. Grady Benson is a dedicated surgeon who takes the time needed to answer questions and has compassion for his patients. He explained the knee replacement surgery and the difficult recovery for the patient. He was not wrong. I had both knees replaced within 7 months. To prepare me for the first surgery he sent me for 3 months of physical therapy before the surgery which was so valuable for the next 3 months of PT after the surgery. His entire team is knowledgeable, compassionate and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Grady Benson and am so grateful to him. Even though the recovery is hard, I would do the surgeries again because I am so much better now. People notice how well I walk now.

Very pleased with Dr Grady-Benson and the whole team behind the scene. My procedure was explained with great detail. Information given before my knee replacement was clearly written down. My pre op checkup was done in the same building as the surgery, which takes the worry about dealing with other appointments. Post surgery communication was easy and supportive.

Dr. Grady-Benson has replaced both my knees. He did my left knee in 2008 and I returned to him for the replacement of my right knee in January 2024. I have had no problems with either knee and highly recommend Dr. Grady-Benson to anyone having a knee replacement. The Hartford Orthopedics Hospital is the absolute best in the area!

I have had both hips replaced by Dr. John Grady Benson, with most recent being July 17, 2023. I received excellent care while at Bone & Joint Institute and would highly recommend to anyone. Three month post-op and I feel great.

Dr. Benson was great. The facility, the Bone and Joint Institute was excellent in the care. Food was very good and total care from staff was also very nice and friendly.
