Dr. John Thomas Growney, MD

First of all the only person that was nice was the receptionist. The younger of the two doctors was very rude and very weird. I was there to continue soboxone treatment and was told I had to get on birth control or he would not treat me. He evidently thinks women are too stupid to not get pregnant without it. I was treated like a crack head and left feeling totally insulted. I'm better off without soboxone if that's how I would be treated being seen by these doctors. I will never go back to these doctors and would advise anybody else looking for help with addiction to not go here either. They also were totally unorganized and there was no up to date equipment in sight. It looked like offices before the invention of computers.

Paula, the receptionist, knows most of the patients by their first name and their family tree. The office is clean and neat. Dr. Growney is one of the rare physicians board ceritfied in family practice since 1970. He also received the coveted distingsion of being one of the rare boarded physicians with a certificate of added qualifications in geriatrics. Dr. Growney and his son, Jim have a thriving practice including addiction medicine and the ability to prescriobe Suvoxone. Although practicing dfor 48 yeatrs in Atchison, he has no current plans for retirement. I give him a four star in all aspects of his office.

When you need a doctor with experience, care, and intelligence run to doctor growney do not walk. he saved my child's life when others said nothing was wrong. had he not listened to his 40+ years of experience and instinct we would be visiting her grave and not her new home.
